Fredrick Bernard Glowa passed away August 7, 2013 at the Vulcan Extendicare, at the age of 96 years
Fred was born in Alonza, Manitoba on January 20, 1918, according to his mother, Rosalija and father John. He was the fourth of eight children. Fred passed away at the age of 96, the longest surviving member of his family. His actual birthdate according to Vital Statistics is March 26, 1917, which was always a great mystery to the entire family.

DANN, Benjamin Jacob “Ben” 1926 – 2013
Benjamin Jacob “Ben” Dann passed away on July 30, 2013 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 87 years.
Ben was born January 2, 1926 at Vulcan, Alberta to Ben and Marie Dann. He attended Sunny Lake school and Milo High School. Following this, Ben went into the Army for a year until the war ended. Following that, he worked at Charlie Northcott’s grocery store for the winter in 1946-47 and played baseball in the minor league with the Calgary Buffaloes. Peter Smart of Vulcan, passed away on July17, 2013 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 96 yrs.
Peter is survived by two daughters, Val Smart of Edmonton and Shirley (Lyle) Brown of Vulcan; two sons, Brian Smart of Delburne and Cal (Norma) Smart of Vulcan, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters Mary Befus and Sylvia Davis, both of Calgary. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret and second wife Helen in 1993.

Alex Wesolowski of Vulcan, passed away at his home on July 16, 2013 at the age of 67 yrs.
Alex was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed the simple things in life.
He will be remembered by longtime friends Christina ( Mike) Kimm of Calgary where they resided on the same street as Alex. He worked as a welder at the ship yards in Vancouver for many years until he was injured in an motor vehicle accident, following his recovery he moved to Calgary, were he met Christina and later her husband Mike, who also lived on the same street. Bernice Leslie, formerly of Mossleigh, passed away July12, 2012 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 89 years.
Bernice was born in Bassano, AB, one of 6 girls and 2 boys, to Fred and Tillie Bertschy. Bernice grew up in Southern Alberta and went to school in Mossleigh. She met Hugh Leslie in the fall of 1941 and they married in October of the following year at Knox United Church in Calgary. Bernice and Hugh lived their lives in Mossleigh.

COFIELD, Gerald H. “Buck” 1928 – 2013
Gerald “Buck” Cofield of Vulcan, formerly of Claresholm, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 5, 2013 in Vulcan at the age of 86 yrs.
Born on April 24, 1927 in Wainwright, AB, in his early years, Buck came south to the Bar U Ranch and worked there until it was sold and then worked seismic for a few years with GSI. He went to work for the MD of Willow Creek in 1965, first from the shop, then as Assistant Fieldman until his retirement.
Buck loved sports, especially baseball and curling. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who
