PLYTKA, Stefan “Steve” Peter 1927 – 2015

Stefan Peter “Steve” Plytka of Vulcan, passed away June 14, 2015 at Vulcan Community Hospital at the age of 87 years.
Steve was born in Bellevue, AB, to parents Peter and Rose Plytka. After spending his youth in the Crowsnest Pass, he later moved to the family farm in the Alston district at Vulcan, AB with his parents and brother Alex.
Steve was a member of the West Canadian Colliers Miners Band and a highlight was being able to play during the Calgary Stampede Parade. He was also a past member of the Vulcan County Band and the Royal Canadian Legion. Steve

SCARLETT, Ella Elizabeth 1930 – 2015

Scarlett, Ella Elizabeth, of Nanton, passed away at the High River Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the age of 85 years.
Ella is survived by her three daughters, Judy (Tim)Taylor of Oregon, Donna Heidmiller of Edmonton, Deana (Jerry) Bjornson of Champion, 5 grandsons Jesse and Chad Bjornson, Cody Jackson, Dustin and Brady Totten. She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Nina Oatts and a sister Edith Brooks.

KEMP, Shirley Jean 1939 – 2015

Kemp, Shirley Jean, wife of David Kemp of Vulcan, passed away at Vulcan Community Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Shirley passed away peacefully after fighting a short but courageous battle of brain cancer.
Besides her husband David, Shirley is survived by daughter Sherry, son David, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers Lyall (Pat) and Garth (Gloria), step mother Shirley and step sister Kelly, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Evelyn, father Milton, brother Barry, step brother Kenny and mother-in-law Lillian.

CAMPBELL, Nora Elizabeth 1921 – 2015

Campbell, Nora Elizabeth (Nee: Collier) passed away May 5, 2015 at Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 93 years.
Nora was born at Vulcan, Alberta on August 25, 1921 to Godfrey (Joe) and Violet Collier. The daughter of a pioneer merchant and harness maker remembered the times of playing with kitchen utensils in the ditch dirt beside the street in front of the house. Nora married her school sweet heart, the love of her life, Stuart Campbell on November 21, 1941. Nora worked as a teller at the Bank of Commerce and then as a stenographer for the R.C.A.F. in Claresholm.

LEBSACK, Nora 1924 – 2015

Lebsack, Nora of Strathmore (formerly of Vulcan), passed away at the Strathmore General Hospital on April 19, 2015 at the age of 91 years.
Nora was born Jan. 17,1924 and grew up on the family farm south of Carbon, Alberta. She met and married the love of her life, David Lebsack in 1944 in Champion, Alberta. They resided on the family farm east of Champion until moving to Vulcan in 1957. After the move, Nora worked for Alberta Agriculture as a stenographer until her retirement in 1989. Through work she met and made many friendships which she tried to maintain throughout

COMSTOCK, Jason Cory Lanovaz 1998 – 2015

Jason Cory Lanovaz Comstock, known by friends and family as “Cory”, was born in Calgary on January 26, 1998, the chosen son of Keith and Eleanor Comstock, and youngest sibling to Caitlin and Connor, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 in Vulcan.
