Francis, Lorna Opal, of Vulcan, peacefully passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on February 11, 2017, at the age of 81 years.
Lorna was born on October 8th, 1935 in Arrowwood, to Nels and Clara Nelson. Lorna grew up on her parents farm near Queenstown, where she started her schooling. After school, she attended Secretarial College in Calgary and worked in Calgary and in the Western United States before returning to Milo. McCaskill, Marjorie Frances, of Vulcan, beloved wife of Bob McCaskill, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on February 5, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

Marjorie was born on January 1, 1926 in the first Vulcan hospital. The only daughter of Clifford and Marie Love, she completed nursing training at the Calgary General Hospital in 1949 and went on to have a successful nursing career, helping war veterans at the Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary. Margaret Enns Reimer 1934 – 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother, Margaret Enns Reimer. After 3 1/2 year struggle with the after effects of a stroke, she went peacefully with her family around her. She was surrounded by what she deemed most important: family and love.
Margaret changed the world. She was a wife of 56 years, a mother to 4, grandmother to 7 , great-grandmother to 6. She loved traveling. She always had itchy feet. She loved grapes and she enjoyed watching the women in her family in the kitchen.

Kehr, Edgar Maxwell “Max” , of Vulcan, beloved husband of Betty, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on January 25, 2017 at the age of 84 years.
Max was born in Vulcan on September 25, 1932 to Edgar and Jessie Kehr. Max took his schooling at Highland, Red Cross and Vulcan schools. In 1949-50, he attended Mount Royal College where he took Grade 11. He was also active in amateur wrestling and basketball as well as hockey and baseball. Max started playing hockey at the age of eleven which carried on well into his forties.

Williams, Irene, formerly of Arrowwood, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on January 23, 2017 at the age of 99 years.
Irene is survived by her children – Fern (Richard) Vachon of Vulcan, Gale (Gerry) Hammett of Vulcan, Faith (Alvin) Vaage of Champion and Jim (Twi) Williams of Okotoks, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James and Rose Page, husband Leonard Williams and seven siblings.
Family Graveside Service and Interment was held at the Arrowwood Cemetery.

Frank Russell Middleton, beloved father and brother, passed away January 20, 2017, at the Vulcan Community Health Center. He was 63 years of age.
Frank was born August 25, 1953 at Vulcan, Alberta to Roger and Marjorie Middleton. He had all his schooling in Vulcan and after graduation worked as a salesman for Brasso Datsun in Calgary. Frank decided to study to become a radio D.J. at Columbia School of Broadcasting, after which he worked at Studio City Musical in Calgary booking and promoting bands. Gertha Montgomery of Calgary, Alberta peacefully passed away on January 19, 2017 at the age of 96 years after a full and rich life.
Gertha was born on September 4, 1920 at Calgary, Alberta to Charles and Minnie Butler. She graduated from the General Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. Gertha then completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing in Ponoka, Alberta before moving to Vulcan where she met her husband, David Montgomery, at the United Church young adults group. Wagenvoort, Pieter Gerardus “Gerry”, of Calgary, beloved husband of Jenny Wagenvoort (nee Pathuis), passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on January 16, 2017 at the age of 86 years old. He died after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Zeist, Netherlands on July 16, 1930, Gerry was married on February 26, 1958 in Zeist to his loving wife Jenny. Together they emigrated from Holland in 1958, and embraced the Canadian life, learning a new language and raising three children. Burgess, Lena Marie, of Vulcan, beloved wife of Mel, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on January 15, 2017 at the age of 89 years.
Lena was born December 4, 1927 in Blackie to Milton and Ellen Scott. Lena and Mel Burgess were married on June 27, 1952 in High River. Together they raised five children and farmed outside of Vulcan.
Lena loved to golf and was a member of the Vulcan Golf Club. She was also part of the Royal Purple. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and watching baseball, especially the Toronto Blue Jays.
