Marmion “Marmie” Louise (Root) Geschwendt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, was ushered into heaven and into the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2018 at the age of 90.
Marmie was born in Vancouver B.C on January 9, 1928 to parents Edward & Molly Root of Lomond. Marmie was the middle child and only daughter, along with older brother Jerry and younger brother Aubrey. Howard was born on August 7, 1938 in Waldheim, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of 5 children, born to Reverend Charles and Katherine Dirks. Howard grew up in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, finished school at 16 years of age, and moved to Calgary to join sister and brother-in-law Frances and Syd Bates. Kenneth (Ken) Howard Gatenby passed away peacefully in Vulcan, Alberta on October 26, 2018 with his family close by his side. Ken was born on December 26, 1931 in Champion. He was the fourth child of Percy and Cecile Gatenby. Ken grew up in Champion loving to play baseball and all things outdoors. After high school he began his journey into the world of business administration, first working at the Treasury Branch in Granum. Judy was born on November 13, 1946 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Alfred and Bernice Fleetwood of Champion, Alberta. She passed away at Vulcan, Alberta on October 20, 2018 at the age of 71 after a brief illness.
Judy is survived by her children Catherine (Doyle) Dubois of Strathmore, Alberta; Ryan (Brandy) Smith of Champion, Alberta and granddaughter Brianna Dubois of Red Deer, Alberta.
She was pre-deceased by her father Alfred in 1993 and her mother Bernice in 2011.

Gregory, Earl James, of Vulcan, beloved husband of Mary, passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare on September 26, 2018 at the age of 83 years.
Earl was born March 21, 1935 in Pincher Creek, AB to Ray and Hazel Gregory. He attended school at Waldren (north of Brocket) and also farmed with his father. Earl worked for the Town of Pincher Creek in 1965 before moving to Vulcan in 1971. He worked for Gulf in Vulcan for 6 years (and 5 company name changes!) before working for Ken Reid at UGG. Spaeth, Betty Jane, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on September 5, 2018 at the age of 70 years.
Betty was born in Calgary on December 10, 1947 to Howard and Mae Spaeth. She attended school in Vulcan, then to Calgary in January of 1969, where she graduated from Jacobson’s Beauty School. In 1970, she worked at Fairmont, B.C., then returned to Vulcan to operate her own shop “Betty’s Beauty Shop” on Main Street, from 1973 to 1981. Betty continued to live in Vulcan until her passing.

Love, Robert “Frank”, beloved husband of Marjorie for 67 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, at the Vulcan Community Health Center on August 29, 2018 at the age of 91 years.
Frank was born July 26th, 1927 to Clifford and Marie (Ruark) Love at home on the farm near Berrywater, where he lived for 91 years. With his older sister Marjorie, Frank attended school at Berrywater and Vulcan. He married Marjorie Evans of Rocky Mountain House in 1951. Together on the same farm, they raised their four children.
Frank was a farmer at heart and continued actively
