Norman, “Betty” Elizabeth passed away suddenly in Lomond, Alberta on July 11, 2018 at the age of 75 years.
Betty was born on August 27, 1942 to Rueben and Sarah Striemer in Carrot River, SK.
In 1982, Betty met Frank Tolsdorf from Travers and together they farmed for ten years. They retired in 1992 and moved into Lomond.
Betty enjoyed flower gardening, knitting and crocheting, creating many beautiful blankets, toques and scarves over the years. She also loved a good game of Crazy Eights!

Lesley was born in Lethbridge, AB on March 10th,1947. Until the age of 6, she and her parents Gordon and Betty Petronech, along with two older brothers Gordon and John, lived in Coaldale. Massie, Eugene, formerly of Carmangay, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on June 27, 2018 at the age of 65 years.
Gene was born in Calgary to Phyllis and Gordon Massie on July 29, 1952. He was raised in Calgary before moving to Carmangay. He was the caretaker for the Carman Manor for many years. As well, he worked many other jobs, helping Volk’s building movers, painting, and ice rink caretaker, amongst others. One of the most memorable jobs was when he wrote the Carmangay News column for the Vulcan Advocate as Geno Mass.
