Virginia Poffenroth of Blackie, Alberta, suddenly passed to her Heavenly home January 29, 2019 at the age of 84 after battling cancer for 7 months.

Besides her loving husband David, Virgina is survived by four children: Joan, Mark, Lyle, Earl, and also two grandchildren Logan and Samuel. Virginia was predeceased by her parents Emmanuel and Katherine Schnell, her sister Leah Rosenkranz, and her brother David Schnell.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Central Church of Christ, Pastor David Sarsons officiating. Interment Vulcan Cemetery.

Karen Margarite Kunkel, beloved wife of Bob, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in Lethbridge on January 24, 2019 at the age of 74 years.

Karen was born in High River on February 10, 1944. She was the first child of Bill and Bettie Beckner. Karen was raised at Majorville, east of Milo where she loved to ride horses. She was married at a young age to Bob Kunkel and moved to a farm at Lomond. She and Bob shared everything from farm work to house work.

Hart, Oliver Frederick, formerly of Lomond, peacefully passed away at the Vulcan Extendicare on January 18, 2019 at the age of 91 years.

Oliver was born October 4, 1927 in Lomond to Frederick and Florence Hart where he and his four siblings were raised in the Lomond area. He met and married Doreen Bell of Bow City in 1951. They moved to Lomond in 1954 where they started Hart Transport and operated the UFA bulk station for several years. They moved onto their farm in 1970.Doreen lived there until her passing in 2006 and Oliver resided there

Marjorie Anna May McLennan October 29, 1928 to January 17, 2019

Marjorie (Marj) McLennan passed away peacefully at the age of 90 with her family by her side at Vulcan Extendicare.

Marj was the third of nine children, born on a farm next to the Belly River, south-east of Fort Macleod, to James and Mary McNab. Marj was raised on the family farm and had many stories of going to the country school, tending gardens, riding horses, hauling water from the river and cooking with her mother. She was especially proud of the fact her dad raised the great bucking horse Midnight.

Mom passed away peacefully Dec. 21, 2018 at the age of 89 years.

Ethel was born July 15, 1929 to Bill and Florence Clements, the seventh of eight children. She grew up east of Milo, attending Corbie Hill School until it closed, then continued at Milo School. In 1948 she married Alvin George “Hap” Heather.

Ethel was famous for her angel food cakes, with family members receiving them on birthday and special occasions. She also loved gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.

Carol was born in Marwayne, AB on January 12, 1942 to George and Beatrice Brooks. She was the middle of 5 children (Earnest, Inez, Shirley and Phyllis). Carolyn was born October 21, 1919, the youngest of three daughters born to Bob and Dora Hay near Vulcan, AB. She attended school at Snake Creek School then to Edmonton Normal School and then taught at Sunset Valley School near Mossleigh.
