It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Roger, a life-long resident and farmer of the Champion, AB community.

Roger was born in Vulcan on November 4th, 1943 and passed away in Calgary on May 14th, 2020. After graduating high school in Vulcan, Roger left to further his education at Montana State University obtaining his B. of Sc. Degree in Agriculture Business in 1968. On Sunday April 26, 2020, Claire Suzanne Vozniak, beloved wife of the Late John Vozniak, passed away suddenly at the age of 65 years.

Suzanne was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan on June 4th 1954, to Joseph and Claire St. Pierre. On march 12th 1983 she married John Vozniak. Together they raised their son David.

Suzanne was a dedicated nurse, working in the field for over 40 years in various cities, as well as a loving wife, mother and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, spending a lot of her time with family at their camper near Vulcan. Suzanne, also

Audrey Sigrid Mary Lucas was born on September 13, 1927 at Indian Head, Saskatchewan to Sigurd & Dorothy Henrickson. In 1929 they moved to the Armada area living in different places until 1939 when they moved to the farm that her parents lived until their passing. She did housekeeping for a neighbor in the area when she wasn’t helping her parents.

In the fall of 1945 at a dance in Milo she met the love of her life, Gordon Lucas who just returned from the war. They were married on November 26, 1946 at the West Hillhurst United Church in Calgary.

It is with a heavy heart but a lifetime of treasured memories that we announce the passing of our much-loved Husband, Father, Grampa, Uncle, Brother and Friend Harold McIlwain. The long-time Vulcan resident lost his hard fought battle with lung cancer (Pleural mesothelioma) on April 10th, 2020 at the Vulcan hospital at the age of 80.

Harold joins his predeceased parents Hester and William McIlwain, sister Judy Sproule and brother Emerald McIlwain in Heaven.

It is with sadness, love and thankfulness to God that we say goodbye to our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Hilda Mollie Munton, who passed away March 25, 2020 at the Vulcan Hospital at 95 years of age.

Hilda is survived by her children: Doug (Valerie) from Coaldale and their children: Ken (Eunice) from Calgary and their children; and Linda (Murray) Hartung from Vulcan and their children.

Due to the ongoing health concerns, the family will have a private graveside service next week and look forward to celebrating Hilda’s life and legacy in the future.

Wilma Rae Boutland, nee Hornberger, loving mother, grandmother and friend was peacefully called Home to her beloved Lord and Saviour on March 16, 2020 at the age of 92 while being a resident in the Vulcan Long-Term Care.

Wilma was born in Vulcan, Alberta, on January 09, 1928 to Pearl and Ray Hornberger where they homesteaded in Armada until moving to Vulcan to help the girls finish their education. Wilma worked at the post office until she met Charles (Charlie) Boutland and together owned and operated the local IGA for many years. Together they served the community with

William (Bill) Hilz Jr. died peacefully just shy of 92 years old at the Vulcan Extendicare on March 4, 2020.
Bill was born in 1928 at Reid Hill Farm. He was a farmer around the Vulcan area from the time his own dad could put him to work. He went to Olds College and also Henderson Secretarial for accounting. Besides farming, for six winters he did accounting and tax returns at G.A. Sales office in Vulcan.

Mary ‘Eleanor’ Bucholtz, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB on February 13, 2020 at the age of 91 years.

Mary Eleanor Bucholtz (nee Johnson) was born to Jim and Georgie Johnson on January 31, 1929 in the Red Cross Outpost Hospital in Bracken, Saskatchewan. Growing up as a child of the Depression, Eleanor lived in small towns across Southern Saskatchewan and Southern Alberta. Climax, Val Marie, Skiff, Wilson Siding, Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Stirling and several boxcars were called home. Mary Helen Chambers of Vulcan, beloved wife and best friend of Ross, passed away surrounded by her family, at 3:45 on February 3, 2020 at the age of 84.

Besides her loving husband Ross, Mary is survived by her children Helen Ann (Stan) Liebreich, Vicky (Mark) Koenig, Patti (Ted) Stokes, Debra (Ron) Magnuson, Michael (Roberta) Chambers, and daughter-in-law Sherry Chambers, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Helen Megella, and beloved sons Les and Tim Chambers.

Frances Mary Hagg of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on February 1, 2020 at the age of 87 years.

Frances is survived by her niece-in-law Charlotte Wald, great niece Melissa (Darren) Williams and great nephew Preston (Kailie) Wald and families.

Frances was predeceased by her parents Alex and May Reid, husband Stanley “Jiggs” Hagg, sisters Helen and Nora (Dahl) Howerton, brothers Cyril and Ernest Reid.

A Private Family Graveside service was held at Vulcan Cemetery, Vulcan, AB.
