Originally from Edmonton, Rick with his wife moved to Vulcan in about 2005 with a tow truck and a dream of starting his own business. Towing did not work out when he injured himself, so he turned his attention to making the Sears, Purolator, Video Store into a successful enterprise until he retired. October 26, 1932 – June 25, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rangvald Aanestad of Carmangay on June 25 at the age of 88. He was born and raised in Enchant, Alberta and in 2000 moved to Carmangay. Rangvald started building his insulation Plant in 1999 which he operated until 2019.
He leaves behind his partner of nine years – Dorothy Grenier, his son Randy (Dianna), his daughters – Karen and Wendy (Stan) and granddaughter Lindsey, his siblings Ruby, Esther, Mina, Clarence and Edwin. He was predeceased by his parents Elias and Ragna Aanestad

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Michael Fodor in his home in Vulcan, Alberta on June 21, 2021 at the age of 61.
Michael Fodor, fourth child of the late William and Madeline Fodor, was born and raised in Vulcan, where he also received his early education.
Mike worked as an Advanced Care Paramedic for the City of Edmonton for over 21 years, including working as a Flight Paramedic for STARS Air Ambulance from 1985-1996. He moved back home to Vulcan in 2009, where he continued as a paramedic for Alberta Health Services until he retired

LaRee (Causey) Jones took her last earthly breath and graduated to heaven on Wednesday, the 23rd of June, 2021 in Langley, BC.
She was born August 9th, 1943 in Carmangay, Alberta and was raised in the Village of Champion, Alberta by her parents, Dave and Louretta Causey. She was also very close to pioneers of the village, great grandfather Martin Clever as well as grandparents Fred and Oma Clever.
LaRee took her schooling at the University of Calgary and started teaching school in 1963. She married Skip Jones (now deceased) the same year.

Ruth Davis, of Vulcan, passed away at Vulcan Extendicare on May 30, 2021 at the age of 95 years.
Ruth lived a life of adventure and did so with enthusiasm and an unshakeable positive attitude. She was a loving, involved mother, an adoring wife and generous friend. A very humble woman who never took credit for her many accomplishments and simply dismissed compliments.

Stanley “Stan” Richard Howe of Champion, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB on May 29, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Stan was born January 21, 1941 in Carmangay, AB to Dick and Linda Howe. Stan went to school in Champion and began farming at a young age and became a way of life that he loved. He met and married Bev Decker in 1963 and together they raised a family of four on the family farm.

Lawrence Clements of Vulcan (formerly of Milo), beloved husband of Doris, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on May 18, 2021 at the age of 96 years.
Lawrence was born January 19, 1925 to Bill and Florence Clements in Provost, AB. In 1927, the family moved to the Milo District. In 1931, Lawrence started school at Corbie Hill until it closed and then went to Milo. In January of 1944, he enlisted in the Army and in April of 1946 he came back home to Canada from Germany. Marg was born in Calgary, AB, later moving to Turner Valley and attended Turner Valley High School. One of Marg’s first jobs was as a telephone operator for AGT. With family by her side, Jacquelyn Grace Lucas (nee Richardson) passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021 at Tudor Manor in Okotoks at 88 years of age.
Jacquie was born in Calgary August 21, 1932 and spent the younger years of her life living with her maternal grandparents (Mom and Dad Crick) on a family farm near Vulcan. She attended school in Vulcan and there in Grade 11 she met the love of her life, Lionel Lucas. After high school Lionel and Jacquie got married and
