Elizabeth Anna Wilson, (nee: Dingwall) passed away suddenly Sunday November 17, 2002 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Elizabeth was born April 10, 1909 at Vulcan, Alberta to Robert and Tressia Dingwall. She attended Richmond Hill School and Henderson’s College for one year. Elizabeth worked at the High River Hospital for many years. She worked in the laundry department first and then as a cook. Jeremy Christopher Morse of Vulcan, Alberta passed away at home on November 11, 2002 at the age of 47 years.
Jeremy was born October 25, 1955 at Westchester, Pennsylvania to Tom and Laure Morse. He moved with his parents to Montreal where he attended Lower Canada College. He completed University with a degree in economics at the University of Western Ontario. Lonnie Lorraine Olive Newman, of Champion, Alberta passed away suddenly 10 kilometers south of Vulcan on Highway 23 on November 1, 2002 at the age of 52 years.
Lonnie was born June 18, 1950 at Brockville, Ontario to John and Cyrilla Newman. She attended many schools and finished her schooling in Kingston, Ontario. Lonnie married Mark Foley and from their union a son was born. Soon after she divorced and moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1977 to work as a legal assistant for a few years. David Oscar Sletto, formerly of Champion, Alberta passed away October 7, 2002 in Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 43 years.
David was born December 5, 1958 in Vulcan, Alberta to Clayton and Elizabeth Sletto. He attended school at Champion for grades one through nine and completed his high schooling in Vulcan. Gordon Russell Hegland, of Champion passed away September 18, 2002 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 90 years.
Russell was born January 6, 1912 at Carmangay, Alberta to Delmar and Lillian Hegland. He attended Plain Field School and worked with his father of the family farm. He joined the army reserve at the beginning of WWII and was stationed at Port Alberni, while home visiting he played the Violin and guitar at dances where he met Phyllis Chamberlin and they were married September 1943. Hugh “Sonny” Leslie formerly of Mossleigh passed away August 12, 2002 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 86 years.
Sonny was born September 26, 1915 at Mossleigh, Alberta the youngest son of Hugh and Lilias Leslie. He attended Antrim school until quitting and began working on a tractor at Mossleigh, which was his life fulfillment. Koziol, Dr. Mieczyslaw (Michael) Emil, of Comox, British Columbia, formerly of Vulcan, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on July 26, 2002 at the age of 85 years.
Michael (“Doc”) was born on August 8, 1916 in a small town in southern Poland called Bajdy. His father was a Polish professor who taught professors. Doc had a brother Kazek who was 2 years older than he was. When Doc was only 2 years old he lost his mother to the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1918. Raymond Louis Fath, of Champion passed away on July 22, 2002 at the age of 84 years.
Raymond was born April 7, 1918 in Champion, Alberta to Louis and Julia Fath. He received his education at the Champion school, and at age thirteen began hauling grain to the Champion elevator. He was required to stay at home and work on the family farm after completing grade nine. In 1940 he joined the Militia (Calgary Highlanders). Irvine John Lindstedt, of Vulcan, formerly of Lomond passed away July 21, 2002 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary at the age of 79 years.
Irvine was born March 4, 1923 at Lomond, Alberta to Joseph and Eleanor Lindstedt. He received his education at Midway and Armada school. He then went to work at the Cross Ranch in Nanton for the next three winters where he drove cat clearing bush, returning to the family farm to work with his father the remainder of the year. He began purchasing land around the Lomond and Armada areas. He worked for MacPhersons as a
