Thomas Lloyd Dalling stepped into eternity suddenly at his home in the Peter Dawson Lodge in Vulcan, Alberta January 14, 2003 at the age of 81 years.
Lloyd was born September 10, 1921 at Logan, Ontario and traveled with his parents John and Helen Dalling to begin farming near Winnipeg, Manitoba. A short time later his father died and he was sent to be a farm laborer, while his mother moved to Vancouver. He followed her later, and while there, what was thought to be polio, put him in a wheelchair. Eventually he regained the use of his legs, and apprenticed
NORTHCOTT, Leonard Eric 1912 – 2003
Leonard Eric Northcott, of Vulcan , formerly of Milo passed away January 7, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 90 years.
Leonard was born August 24, 1912 near Milo, Alberta to Charles and Clara Northcott. He attended school at Kirkland and finished his last year in Milo. Following that he then attended agricultural school in Claresholm from 1928 to 1929. KOSKELA, Travis Andrew 1989 – 2002

Travis Andrew Koskela of Vulcan passed away suddenly December 28, 2002 at Brooks, Alberta at the age of 13 years.
Travis was born February 1, 1989 at Lethbridge, Alberta to Gary and Elaine Koskela. He received his schooling at Hazel Cameron Elementary School and was attending grade seven at County Central High School in Vulcan. Travis loved his family and friends. He especially enjoyed time shared with his nieces and nephews. He would often play out in the back yard with them and on numerous occasions babysat them. BUSHELL, Eugene Dale 1939 – 2002

Eugene Dale Bushell, of Milo passed away suddenly at home December 25, 2002 at the age of 63 years.
Eugene was born March 1, 1939 in Queenstown, Alberta to John “Jack” and Florence Bushell. He attended Queenstown school and later S.A.I.T. taking a course in Ag. Mechanics. He married his first wife June Nelson on June 4, 1960 and together they lived on the farm at Milo. June died in November of 1988 and on July 15, 1995 he married Marg Winters in Milo. Massie, John Gordon 1924 – 2002
Massie, John Gordon formerly of Carmangay, Alberta passed away at Vulcan Extendicare December 21, 2002 in his 79th year.
Gordon was born August 17, 1924 at Midnapore, Alberta to James and Elizbeth Massie. He worked in sales for the General Motors Company in 1972 and 1973 received Exemplary Salesmen’s award. He retired in 1977.
Gordon loved his family and community. He served as Mayor of Carmangay for several terms although he was a private person he believed in doing what was right and getting things done.
Gordon was predeceased by his lifemate Phyllis in 2001and a son Dana in 1975.

EAMOR, Betty Alice 1922 – 2002

Betty Alice Eamor of Vulcan passed away December 6, 2002 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 80 years.
Betty was born September 20, 1922 at Wahstao, Alberta. She received her education at Norwood High School. Upon graduation she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on September 16, 1942. She was stationed at several basses in Canada. In 1943 she met Melvin Eamor at Pierce Base Ft. McLeod. They married on the 17th of November 1944. Betty continued to serve until January 12, 1945. ZAHURSKY, Samuel “Sam” 1903 – 2002

Samuel “Sam” Zahursky, of Vulcan passed away December 5, 2002 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 99 years.
Sam was born August 21, 1903 in Max, North Dakota to Joseph and Salomea Zahursky. He had two brothers and two sisters. The family moved to the homestead in the Lonesome Butte, Saskatchewan area. Sam went to Alberta to work in the dry “thirties”. He met Jean Robertson of Queenstown and they were married December 9, 1935. Sam was a mechanic and worked at the Oliver Machinery Company, the garage in Queenstown and then became the mechanic at Allan Phillips garage
ZUEHLKE, Ruby Alice 1924 – 2002

Ruby Alice Zuehlke (nee: Verbaan), of Vulcan, Alberta passed away December 5, 2002 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 78 years.
Ruby was born January 10, 1924 at Red Jacket, Saskatchewan to Louis and Susan Verbaan. She grew up on a farm at Red Jacket, and attended school there until grade nine. After quitting school she worked doing farmwork and housekeeping around the local community. In 1944 she moved to Picture Butte where she worked in the Sugar Factory. GRAFF, Reinhold 1913 – 2002
Reinhold Graff, of Vulcan, Alberta passed away November 27, 2002 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 89 years.
Reinhold was born October 12, 1913, at Westerham, Saskatchewan, one of twelve children born to Ludwig and Maria Graff. He attended school at Westerham until grade four and then helped his father on the family farm. Reinhold began working the land when he was just seven years old, driving four horses and a gang-plow. As a young man in 1936, he purchased his own farm near Estuary, Saskatchewan, and in 1940 moved to Meadowlake, Saskatchewan, where he established a mixed farming operation.
BRINTON, Lillian May 1916 – 2002

Lillian May Brinton of Vulcan passed away November 19, 2002, at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 86 years.
Lillian was born August 20, 1916 at Cayley, Alberta to Robert and Phoebe Houlden. She received her schooling at the Cayley School. On October 18, 1935 she married Wentworth Brinton in High River. In 1939 they moved to Kirkaldy. She was involved in the community and at one time played the piano and drums in a local band. In 1955 Wentworth passed away and Lillian moved her family to Vulcan.
