It is with profound sadness that the family of Ian McLeod Jaquish of Vulcan, Alberta announces his sudden passing at home on January 2, 2025, at the age of 73 years.
Ian was born June 29, 1951, at Calgary, Alberta. He was raised in Calgary and educated at Crescent Heights High School.
Ian’s early years were spent exploring the undeveloped fields of northeast Calgary with friends.  He particularly enjoyed spending time camping throughout western Canada with his family.  Much of his leisure time was spent playing baseball and hockey where he played on several city and provincial championship teams.  He developed an

Mom passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 4, 2025 at the age of 92. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior with no more worries.
Mom was born June 7, 1932 in Champion Alberta to Norman and Myrtle Patterson.  She was raised in Champion with her sister Donna and brother Doug.  She took her teacher training in Calgary in 1951 and taught in Carmangay, Vulcan and Champion through the years. When she retired from teaching she worked with Dad on their farm west of Champion.

Doris Clements passed away peacefully at South Health Campus on February 26, 2025 at the age of 99 years.
Doris was born on April 9, 1925 to Joe and Sarah Davenport in Cluny AB.  She lived on the family farm NE of Cluny along with her three brothers and two sisters. Doris attended school in Cluny, she travelled to school by horse, wagon or sleigh.
Doris married Lawrence Clements in 1950 after dating for a few years prior.  They first lived in High River and then in 1951 moved to Milo AB.  They had two children – Darlene and Larry.

Mary was born in Toronto on St. Patrick’s Day. She would excel at school and go on to earn a BA and BSW from U of T and a Master ‘s in Social Work from McGill. She worked for Children’s Aid Society in York County prior to moving West where she continued her social work with the Government of Alberta. Mary would later sit on the University of Calgary Senate.

Reinhard W. “Reno” Bexte of Strathmore (formerly of Mossleigh), beloved husband of Lydia, passed away at the Strathmore Hospital on December 30, 2024 at the age of 83 years.
Reno was born June 12, 1941 in Freischlag, Germany, to Bernhard and Anna Bexte. His family emigrated to Canada in 1953, settling in Picture Butte. In 1959, they left Picture Butte and arrived in the Arrowwood area. Like his brothers, he worked for farmers needing help, and for some years, worked for B&B (Beagle and Bexte) Service at Arrowwood.
