ANNA NOLTE, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT HER HOME IN VULCAN, ALBERTA JUNE 21, 2000 AT THE AGE OF 93 YEARS.

ANNA WAS BORN NOVEMBER 22, 1906 IN WIERZBICA, POLAND, THE SECOND OF FOUR CHILDREN BORN TO JACOB AND PARANKA NAKONECZNY. SHE HELPED ON THE FAMILY FARM, WHICH WAS LOCATED ON BOUNDARY LAND, THAT SAW MANY CONFLITS OF WAR. ANNA ARRIVED IN QUEBEC CITY ON THE OCEAN LINNER NAMED “MONTCALM”, SHE THEN TRAVELED ACROSS CANADA, ARRIVING IN VULCAN IN 1928. SHE WAS MET BY MR. & MRS. PETE McINTYRE WERE SHE BEGAN WORKING AS A DOMESTIC HELPER. ANNA ALSO WORKED FOR MR. & MRS. DEWIE DOANE AND MR. & MRS. BILL HILL. MRS. HILL FOUND ANNA A JOB IN BANFF WERE SHE WORKED FOR SIX MONTHS, LATER THE SAME YEAR MRS. HILL FOUND A JOB FOR ANNA AT THE VULCAN HOSPITAL. SHE WORKED THERE UNTIL SHE MET AND MARRIED FRED NOLTE IN NOVEMBER 1935. TOGETHER THEY FARMED IN THE ENSIGN AREA. FOLLOWING THE PASSING OF FRED IN 1956 SHE CONTINUED TO OPERATE THE FARM, WITH THE HELP OF HER SON EDWARD, UNTIL MOVING INTO VULCAN IN 1964 WHERE SHE HAS RESIDED SINCE.

ANNA ALWAYS HAD A LARGE GARDEN AND IN HER EARLY YEARS SHE WOULD, CAN TWO HUNDRED QUARTS OF VEGETABLES PER SEASON MAKING READY FOR LONG WINTERS. SHE ALSO PICKLED MANY QUARTS OF VEGETABLES AND CHICKEN, ALL DONE ON A COAL WOOD STOVE, IN THE HOUSE ,IN THE SUMMER, AND LATER YEARS THE STOVE WAS MOVED TO THE GARAGE. THE HOUSE ALWAYS HAD THE FRESH BAKED BREAD SMELL AS ANNA WOULD BAKE BREAD, COOKIES. IN 1949 SHE RECEIVED HER CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP PAPERS AND THE FOLLOWING YEAR SHE TRAVELED TO FLORIDA TO VISIT HER UNCLE THEODORE AND COUSIN KATHRYN IN OHIO. THEN IN 1972 SHE RETURNED TO HER HOMELAND, A CHARTER TOUR THAT INCLUDED MOSCOW, TARNOPOL, L’VOV AND KIEV AND VISITED HER TWO REMAINING SISTERS KATHERINE AND MARINA AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN 1982 SHE MADE HER FIRST TRIP TO THE WEST COAST AND TRAVELED FOR THE FIRST TIME BY BOAT SINCE DOCKING IN CANADA.

SHE RETURNED TO GERMANY IN APRIL 1984 WITH DAUGHTER KATHY WHICH ALSO INCLUDED VISITS TO ITALY, ROME AND TO VATICAN SQUARE TO SEE THE POPE JOHN PAUL II, THE FIRST POLISH POPE.

ANNA LOVED HER FAMILY AND SHE ENJOYED TIMES TOGETHER WITH HER CHURCH FAMILY. SHE ALWAYS KEPT HER OWN HOUSE, YARD AND FLOWER GARDEN IMPECCABLE. SHE ENJOYED NEEDLE CRAFTS. ANNA WAS A HARD WORKER AND WAS ALWAYS READY TO HELP HER FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE.

LOVING MOTHER OF A DAUGHTER MADELINE HERRON OF CALGARY, A SON EDWARD (SHEILA) NOLTE, A SON-IN-LAW MEL JORDAN OF VULCAN, SIX GRANDCHILDREN LAURA KRISTINANSEN OF CALGAY, DARCY NOLTE OF SWANHILLS, KAREN (ROD) WEINKAUF OF COALHURST, RANDY JORDAN, DERRICK (BARBARA) JORDAN AND JOLENE (ROB)KEATING ALL OF CALGARY, SEVEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

ANNA WAS PREDECEASED BY HER HUSBAND FRED IN 1956, DAUGHTER KATHERN JORDAN IN 1997, THREE SISTERS CHRISTINA, MARINA AND KATHERINE AND HER PARENTS.

RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO PRAYERS AT ST. ANDREW’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, VULCAN MONDAY JUNE 26, 2000 AT 7:30 P.M.

FUNERAL MASS TUESDAY JUNE 27, 2000 AT 1:30 P.M. AT ST. ANDREW’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, VULCAN WITH REV. FR. LONG VU CELEBRANT.

CASKET BEARERS DARCY NOLTE, HUNTER HOLTE, DERRICK JORDAN, ROB KEATING, ROD WEINKAUF, RANDY JORDAN.

INTERMENT VULCAN CEMETERY.
