William Carl Nolan
William Carl Nolan was born in Quinton, SK to Irish Immigrant parents on May 2, 1924. The youngest of nine children, he was raised in Wynyard, SK. Bill passed away peacefully on December 16, 1995 at Vulcan Extendicare.
Bill served with the Winnipeg Rifles in Europe during World War II and with the Fighting 59th in Korea from 1951 to 1954. He fondly recalled camaraderie and friendship during his years of service.
Following the Second World War, he arrived in the Vulcan are where he worked as a firefighter at the Vulcan Airport, clerk at the Red and White store, a painter, a bartender and a farm manager. Retirement was spent in the Blackie, Champion and Vulcan areas where he enjoyed time with family and friends.
Bill is survived by Charlotte (nee: Smith), six children; Marj (Arnie), Rick, Gord (Edna) George (Michelle) Lloyd (Sandy) David (Laura), 19 grandchildren, two sisters: Eileen (Emery) and Margaret.
He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and two sisters and a granddaughter Christy-Lee Nolan.
No service will be held at this time.
