Jeremy Christopher Morse of Vulcan, Alberta passed away at home on November 11, 2002 at the age of 47 years.
Jeremy was born October 25, 1955 at Westchester, Pennsylvania to Tom and Laure Morse. He moved with his parents to Montreal where he attended Lower Canada College. He completed University with a degree in economics at the University of Western Ontario. He worked for Buroughs Computers and Intergraph Canada, at first selling computers then on the technical side working in Ottawa and Calgary. After a few years he began his own business Jeremy Morse & Associates Inc. He attended University of Colorado in Boulder were he earned his Masters of Science Degree in telecommunications in 1990/91.
In 1988 he met Ann Houston. They were married at Sundre, Alberta in November 1999. They resided in Calgary until moving to their life long dream home on an acreage in Vulcan County. After working many long hard years in the computer industry Jeremy made a career change and became a farrier. He loved to work with horses, at first with his father building log cabins and more recently as a farrier. He loved owning his own hobby farm complete with horses and a collection of other farm animals, including sheep, ducks and chickens.
Summers for much of his youth were spent on Lake Pythonga in Quebec, where he worked with his father to build log cabins and spending time outdoors. He was very happy when they moved to Vulcan on the acreage to own his own piece of paradise, meeting and making many friends in the area. The arrival of his daughter, the joy of his life, just added to his happiness.
Jeremy served on the Canadian Friends Service Committee for many years. He was also a member of the Calgary Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
A Funeral Service was held Saturday November 16, 2002 at the Central Church of Christ Vulcan with inurement in Vulcan Cemetery.
A trust fund has been set up for his daughter Emily Charlotte Morse c/o Macleod Savings and Credit Union Box 305 Vulcan TOL 2BO.
