My heartfelt condolences go out to Peter, Grace and their families. I have many fond memories of Aunt Velma (and Uncle Dave) going back to my early childhood. Velma had a wonderful spirit. She deeply loved and cared for her family during her entire life. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have always felt close to your family Peter. Our parents were great friends, always playing cards, etc.Your sister even did my hair for my wedding! Velma even lived next door to Marlene, my sister! They had more than a few adventures together and lots of laughs! Seems amazing that Beth, her granddaughter, helped me when my mom was passing away… I don’t know how I would have managed without her and will always be grateful for that.
I just want you all to know I understand the horrible hurt your going through. You will all be in my prayers at this difficult time. It’s nice to think of Velma back with Dave. I bet he was tapping his foot waiting! Marlene and I will see you at the funeral tomorrow….

    Peter, Kim and families,
Gary and I were so sad to hear of Velma’s death. I would call her every year around Christmas and we would have a great chat. She was so proud of all of you and would fill me in on the grand children and great grand children. She will be dearly missed, our hearts go out to you all. Love from all of our families….Mary Jane and Garyl

    Peter, Kim and families,
I was so saddened to hear about Aunt Velma. She was a joyful person who I remember very fondly from early days on Rockland Road, Saint John. My thoughts are with you all as you deal with this terrible loss and I hope you find some comfort in the knowledge that Velma lived a very full and long life with the people she loved most.

    All my love
    Michel and Wendy (Ryder) Bourque
