Anne Noreen Middleton, loving wife of the late John G. “Jack”, passed away with her family beside her at the Vulcan Community Health Centre January 25, 2008 at the age of 83 years.
Anne was born on December 5, 1924 at Nanton, Alberta to Gilbert and Harriet Lee. She was raised by Annie and Dick Clements on their farm in the Alston area. Anne attended Mount Royal College and took Dental Assistant. She worked for a short while until she married Jack Middleton of the Auburn area on July 20, 1950. Anne became a stay-at-home mom and raised seven children. She also helped out with their mixed farming operation.
Anne loved to go to dances and still attended dances until recently. She also loved to play cards and travel with her ladies group. Anne was a Guide Leader, a member of the U.C.W. and C.W.A. and a member of the Bible Study group. Anne was very involved with the Alston community and hall. She drove the Courtesy Car for over twenty years. Anne was always on the go and traveled extensively. Her greatest love was her family and she would try to go to all the birthdays of her children and grandchildren.
Beloved mother of four daughters Annalee (Bryan) Hearn of St. Paul, Maura (Kurt) Schadeli of Creston, BC, Marjorie(Shilo) Salzman and Inez (Laurent) Gamache all of St. Paul, three sons Richard “Dick” (Debbie) and John (Roxanne) all of Champion and Albert (Maxine) of Stavely, twenty-three grandchildren Bill (Cassy) Hearn, twins Ken Hearn (deceased) and Kimberly (Terry) Katerenchuk, Anneli Schadeli, Heidi Schadeli, Claire Schadeli, twins Josh (Jennifer) Salzman and Jennifer (Jeremy) Bond, Adam Salzman, Lee Gamache, Lucie Gamache, Nico Gamache, Marjie Middleton, Joanna Middleton, Jackie Middleton, Angie Middleton, Avi Scheibner (Tim), Arren (Buck) Middleton, Amber (Jared) Puzey, Jessica Middleton, Buck(Arren) Middleton, Jack Middleton and Nick Middleton, nine great grandchildren Rodney, Jackson, Leslie, Jayme, Owen, Maryssa, Emry, Gilbert and Lilyanne, a sister Glenoro (deceased: Gordon) Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1981, grandson Ken Hearn, three sisters Marjorie Lee, Mary (Lloyd) Gibson, Beatrice (Cliff) Fletcher, her twin brother William and her parents.
Funeral service was held Thursday January 31, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Champion Congregational Church with Rev. Wayne Lee officiating.
Interment at the Alston Cemetery.
