Mary Teresa McColman passed away at Vulcan Community Health Centre on October 21, 2007 at the age of 92 years.

Teresa was born January 31, 1915 at Arrowwood, Alberta to Frank and Mary (Corcoran) McInenly.  She was the oldest of five children.  Teresa took her schooling at Buffalo Hill School and one year at Trochu.  When she finished school, Teresa worked for several of the neighbors helping to care for their children as well as cooking in the busy seasons.  In 1941 Teresa married Dave McColman.  They moved several times working for local farmers until Dave went to work in the oil fields.

In 1956 they bought a home in Red Deer.  Teresa worked at the Provincial Training School and the Deerhome Institution for twenty years and for C.N.I.B. at the hospital for three years.  Dave passed away in 1986 and Teresa moved in with her daughter Joyce, Don and family.  She lived with them for nine years.  When Teresa was 83, she moved in to the Peter Dawson Lodge at Vulcan and resided there until her passing.

Teresa loved being with family and was very involved with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, knitting and playing a friendly game of cards.  Teresa was a member of the C.W.L. for more than forty years.

Beloved mother of a daughter Joyce (Don) Gerling of Edmonton and a son Bill (Dawn) McColman of Brooks, five grandchildren David (Lea-ann) Gerling of Sherwood Park, Debra Fraser, Danielle (Chad) Goeree all of Ft. Saskatchewan, Troy (Marnie) McColman and Trina (Jake) Jones all of Brooks, six great grandchildren, brother-in-law Victor Earl of Calgary, sister-in-law Gene McInenly in BC, numerous nieces and nephews

Teresa was predeceased by her husband David, two brothers Martin and Percy, two sisters Elsie Earl and Agnes Hoerle and her parents.

Funeral Mass Friday October 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church 330-1 St. South, Vulcan with Rev. Fr. Philip Van Tinh Le celebrant.

Honorary bearers Peter Dawson Lodge family and friends.

Casket bearers Frank McInenly, Richard Earl, Darwin McFadden, Bill McFadden, Joe Meehan and Pat Klein.

Interment Vulcan Cemetery.
