On Wednesday, December 19, 2007 Marguerite Mary Lindstedt passed away at the Oilfields General Hospital in Black Diamond.

Marguerite was born on October 15, 1918 in Moncton, New Brunswick to Stanley and Molly Keays. After attending nursing school in Moncton from 1938 – 1941 she enlisted in the army and was stationed in Moncton during WW II. After being discharged, Marguerite and a friend headed West. After working in Edmonton she was sent to Lomond as the Public Health Nurse for the Bow River District. Nine months later she met Ralph Lindstedt and they were married in 1947. They settled on a farmstead in the area where they raised their seven children. Marguerite moved to Calgary in 1985 after Ralph’s passing.

Marguerite was very spiritual, supported numerous charities and loved the Christmas season. She enjoyed traveling, playing scrabble, and reading, but most of all she loved her family and enjoyed any time spent with them. One of the highlights of her life was her 80th birthday celebration with family and friends.

Beloved mother to three daughters Pat (Peter) Shaw, Vicky (Bernard) Huet, Laura (Rodger) Frank, four sons Joe (Gloria), Ron (Jane), Sydney (Becky), Mark (Marlene), beloved grandmother to Debbie, Tina, Coralee, Sandra, Crystal, Nicole, Daniel, Christina, Melissa, Jeremy, Kolin, Kevin, Jamie, David, Shane and Amanda, beloved great grandmother to Sarah, Chad, Kirsten, Cadence, Jordan, Steven, Emma, Blake, Andrea and Jayda, beloved sister to John (Joyce) Keays, sister-in-law to Henry (Earlene) Lindstedt, Helen (Albert) West, Dagne (Stan) Maertz, aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.  Marguerite will be missed by all.

Predeceased by her loving husband Ralph, her dear brothers Paul, Mark (Joan) and Dick (Loretta) Keays, brothers-in-law Irvine and Art Lindstedt, two infant grandchildren and her parents.

Funeral service December 22, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church at Lomond with Rev. Kevin Powell  officiating.

Honorary bearers Bernard Tanner, Rodger Frank and Peter Tindall.

Casket bearers Kevin Lindstedt, Kolin Lindstedt, Jamie Lindstedt, David Lee, Daniel Lindstedt and Shane Frank.

Interment Vulcan Cemetery following reception at the Drop-in Centre.
