Norman Charles “Norm” Lebsack, beloved husband of Malita of Vulcan, was called home to his Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 12, 2004 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 70 years.
Norm was born December 31, 1933 in Vulcan to Charles and Matilda Lebsack. He was raised on a farm east of Champion and attended Yale, Harmony and Champion Schools. He met Malita at Hillcrest Christian College and they were married April 11, 1953.
Norm farmed in Champion until 1958 then in Vulcan area from 1964 until 1990. Over the years he had many occupations which he thoroughly enjoyed. Among his many occupations were many good years at Richardson & Gould garage, advertising representative for CHRB Radio station in its early years, driving the big yellow school bus for 28 years and driving tour bus which was one of his special delights. For many years, Norm’s ears were always on to answer back on the CB radio as the ”Blue Healer” on one niner. An important part of his day included visiting over coffee.
Norm served in his community, volunteering for many special events including Spock Days, Vulcan’s 85th Anniversary, Lions Club projects and he also was on Town Council for three years. As Parade organizer, Norm contacted many groups inviting them to take part in Vulcan’s parade. He also invited the Calgary Stampede Band to Vulcan to practice for the many parades they attended.
Norm had a love and a great zest for life, people and his God. He enjoyed seeing the wonders of God’s creation. Holidays and travel were a big part of Norm’s life. He would mark the day on the calendar and count down the days.
Norm will always be remembered for his friendly smile, warm hugs, helping hand and a big wave.
He truly loved his wife and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Malita of Vulcan, daughter Peggy (Garry) Lucas, two sons Wade (Deborah) and Scott (Danielle), grandchildren Scott, Caitlin, Blair, Troilene and Shaylen, two sisters Diane and Marion and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norm is now released to a new life of radiance and beauty in his new home with his dear Saviour.
