Elma Kathryn King, formerly of the Arrowwood district passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre, Long Term Care Unit, where she resided for the past four years. January 27, 2004 at the age of 91 years.
Elma will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons Glen of Innisfail, Roy (Gail) and Gordon (Lois) all of Arrowwood, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Myra King of Calgary, numerous nieces and nephews.
Elma was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1985, a daughter Carol in 2000, two brothers and their wives Lewis (Lily) Bull and George (Grace) Bull, parents Charles and Kate Bull, a brother-in-law Alan King.
Elma and Lorne farmed and ranched in the Indus area until moving to the Buffalo Hills area in 1951. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed raising cattle, horses, knitting and was an avid reader. All who knew her enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humor. Elma and Lorne spent many winter months traveling in the southern States, haunting the flea markets and antique shops to increase their collections.
When Lorne passed away she first moved to Manor in High River then the Sandstone Lodge in Okotoks. When her eyesight stated to fail she moved to the Nanton Nursing Home and then to Vulcan Long Term Care where she has resided since. At her request, cremation with a family gathering at a later date.
