Bruce Leslie Jones
April 24, 1971 – May 20, 2024

It is with great sadness that BRUCE LESLIE JONES passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Bruce was born in Lethbridge in 1971. He grew up and attended school in Lomond. He was 16 years old when he joined the Lomond Fire Department and was an active member for 27 years. He helped farm with his dad and granddad Smokie. The only thing he hated about farming was picking rocks. He loved going motor bike riding, golfing, floating down the canal on tubes and visiting friends. Bruce enjoyed his hunting trip with cousin Steve in Grand Cache. He loved going on holidays overseas with family and friends and he enjoyed wood-working and taking care of his yard.

Bruce cherished his family and friends. He adored his niece and nephew and was always willing to lend a hand and help out in a drop of a hat when needed. He had a great love of animals. Bruce was known for his practical jokes, his sense of humor and his generous nature. His favorite teams were the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Bruce is survived by his parents Jim, Penny, sister Kate (Brad), niece McKenzie (Brett), nephew Dakota (Breanna) and aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will take place Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm at the Lomond Drop-In Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend the Interment first at the Lomond Cemetery at 1 pm.

Any tributes in Bruce’s memory can be made to the Lomond Fire Department, PO Box 268, Lomond, Alberta, T0L 1G0.

Penny, Jim, Kate, Brad and Family,
Sincerest condolences in the passing of Bruce.
So many memories of high school have been coming to mind this week.
Many times Bruce would give my mom a hard time about extending our curfew time on the weekends, and he always reassured her and said he would take care of us and refer to himself as my big brother. She most often gave in an let us stay out a bit later. Bruce was always so joyful and joking around. A fond memory was a time when we packed my parents Ram Charger full of people and headed up to Milo…..oh dear! Bruce will be missed! You are all in my thoughts. Take care, Tanya and Hunter
