Nelson Macauley Jamison passed away peacefully March 22, 2006 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre long-term care unit at the age of 90 years.
Nelson was born November 1, 1915 at Tekoa, Washington to Robert and Sara Jamison. The family moved to a farm near Vulcan in March of 1917. Nelson attended Harvey School in 1921 and moved to the Town of Vulcan in 1924 to continue his schooling in Vulcan schools. The family would move back to the farm in the growing season. In 1942 he married Ruby Collier took over the Jamison farm north of Vulcan. Nelson farmed until his retirement in 1973. Nelson enjoyed playing badminton in his younger years and later took up golfing which became his passion until his 88th year.
Nelson always could be called upon to volunteer his many building skills for family and community whether it be at the United Church, Civic Centre or the golf course.
Nelson is survived by a daughter Ann (Wark) Boucher of Ottawa, Ontario, a son Boyd (Shelley) Jamison of Mazeppa, Alberta, six grandchildren, Sean (Jane) Boucher of Los Angeles, Karin (Chris) Johnson of Ottawa, Jennilee, Jared, Justin, and Jaice Jamison of Mazeppa, three great grandchildren Mackenzie and Mikayla Johnson and Sophie Boucher, a sister Helen (Bill) Giles of Duncan, B.C., a sister-in-law Marj Jamison of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nelson was predeceased by his wife Ruby in 2004, two brothers, John and Douglas (Mary Rose) and his parents.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Monday, March 27, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.

Honorary bearers were Ben Dann, Charlie Fulton, Ivan Haga, Pat Walker, Allan Walker, Bill Johnston, Burnell Drummond and John Wolfe.
