MR. ROBERT DALE HOOD OF VULCAN, PASSED AWAY MAY 22, 1991 AT THE VULCAN GENERAL HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF 57 YEARS.
DALE WAS BORN AT OXBOW, SK ON JULY 31, 1934. DALE LIVED IN ARROWWOOD AND DROVE SCHOOL BUS AND RAN A BULK STATION UNTIL 1973 THEN MOVED TO VULCAN AND WORKED FOR THE COUNTY OF VULCAN AS ROAD MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR UNTIL HIS HEALTH PREVENTED HIM FROM WORKING.
HE LOVED HIS FAMILY AND ENJOYED HIS GRANDCHILDREN. HE WAS GENEROUS BY NATURE AND A VERY KIND HEARTED PERSON WHO WAS ALWAYS READY TO LEND A HELPING HAND TO FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS WHEN NEEDED. HE LOVED THE OUTDOORS AND TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HIS YARD AND WORK. HE SHARED HIS SENSE OF HUMOR AND ADDED TO THE HAPPINESS OF OTHERS.
HE IS NOW IN THE HANDS OF HIS MAKER – GOD REST HIS SOUL. HE WAS DEEPLY LOVED BY HIS FAMILY AND WILL BE SADLY MISSED.
SURVIVED BY DAUGHTER BETTY (BILL D’ANDREA), SONS BRIAN (WANDA), ROBIN (MILLIE) AND NORMAN (ANGIE) HOOD, TEN GRANDCHILDREN, HIS MOTHER SARAH HOOD, SISTERS DOROTHY (BRUNO) CANTARUTTI, JOYCE (NORMAN) BIGNEY AND CAROL (JOHN) OVA. HE WAS PREDECEASED BY HIS WIFE SHIRLEY IN 1989 AND HIS FATHER ROBERT ANDY HOOD.
MEMORIAL SERVICE WAS HELD AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH ON SATURDAY, MAY 25, 1991 AT 2 PM, REV. STACY LANDRY OFFICIATING.
