Vienna Lavina Hall, beloved wife of the late Ralph Hall, passed into the arms of her lord and saviour Jesus Christ on December 13, 2007 surrounded by her family at High River, Alberta.
Vienna was born January 5, 1912 at Clark, South Dakota to Walter and Ida Watson when they were on their way to Canada. They farmed in Standard, Alberta where Vienna was raised and attended school. At the early age of 16 years she married George McMorris and settled in the Milo area to farm and raise her family. She divorced George in 1939, and worked her way through Southern Alberta. She finally came to work as a cook for the road crew on the Rogers Pass. Vienna met and married Ralph Hall in 1953. They returned to farm in the Milo area until retiring and moving to High River in 1988, where she has continued to reside since.
Vienna was a great cook. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, taking lots of pictures, knitting, tatting (making lace), traveling, camping. Vienna’s favorite times of the year were spring and harvest on the farm. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers.
Vienna was a past member of the Order of th Royal Purple in Vulcan for many years.
Vienna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Dene Amadore of Ponoka, Byrla (Gordon) Marshall of High River, daughter-in-law Ruth McMorris of Langley, B.C., fifteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Ralph, Vienna was predeceased by a son Eugene “Sonny” McMorris, two brothers Verg and Victor, a sister Vivian and her parents.
Funeral service was held Tuesday December 18, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Snodgrass Funeral Home, 301 Macleod Trail S.W. High River with Pastor Doug Moffat officiating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 17 Ave. at Garden Road, Calgary.
