Kenneth George “Ken” Graham, passed away March 19, 2009 at Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, Alberta at the age of 84 years.
Ken was born on November 25, 1924 at Vulcan to Clifford and Leila Graham. and attended Vulcan schools. He decided at an early age that he wanted to farm so when the opportunity to purchase his Uncle Elmer’s farm arose, he took it. Ken never regretted that decision. He retired from farming two years ago. Ken also had a great love of family and looked after his mother for thirteen years until her passing.
Ken possessed a friendly disposition, great strength, wisdom and a valued opinion for those that took the time to ask. He was a good judge of character and had a quiet way of sitting back and observing people. Ken loved to travel and his favorite place to go was Hawaii. In his youth he liked curling, downhill and cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Ken was self taught in woodworking and made beautiful decorative artworks. He was always interested in knowing what his nieces and nephews were doing. Ken was also a devoted and faithful servant of Vulcan United Church
Loving brother of Lloyd (Rose) and Glenn (Alice) all of Vulcan, a sister Erma (Roy) Wilson of Calgary, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, a sister Lois and her husband Charlie Roberts, two sisters -in-law Gwen Graham and Muriel Graham.
Funeral service was held Thursday March 26, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Vulcan United Church with Sue MacDonald D.M. officiating.
Casket bearers were Cody Whiteside, Harold McIlwain, Ron Bunton, Keith Wilson, Graham Roberts and Don Grinde.
Interment Vulcan Cemetery.
