GERDING, HEATHER BROWN, R.N., PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY AT THE VULCAN GENERAL HOSPITAL ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1990 AT THE AGE OF 62 YEARS.

BELOVED WIFE OF ROBERT AND LOVING MOTHER OF A SON – LYMAN, BOTH OF VULCAN, SIX DAUGHTERS – SUSAN (DON) MEADOWS OF YORKTON, SASK., JANICE GERDING OF CALGARY, GAYLE (DAVID) TARASOFF OF HIGH RIVER, BOBBI (RANDY) SALEY OF BANKEND, SASK., DONNA GERDING OF LETHBRIDGE AND MARILYN AND HER FIANCEE DAVID HOOVER BOTH OF HIGH RIVER, SIX GRANDCHILDREN, TWO BROTHERS JAMES (JOANNE) LEES OF BILLINGS, MONTANA AND ARTHUR (ANN) LEES OF CALGARY, A SISTER JEAN (BILL) MILLS OF WARBURG, ALBERTA, FIVE NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER PARENTS ALEX AND MARGARET LEES AND TWO
GRANDCHILDREN.

HEATHER WAS BORN AT CONSORT, ALBERTA MARCH 20, 1928. SHE GRADUATED AS A REGISTERED NURSE FROM THE CALGARY GENERAL SCHOOL OF NURSING IN 1950 AND CARRIED OUT NURSING AT CONSORT, CALGARY AND CAME TO VULCAN MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL IN 1951 WHEN SHE MARRIED ROBERT GERDING. THEY HAVE RESIDED IN THE BERRYWATER DISTRICT. SHE COMPLETED HER CAREER OF THIRTY-NINE YEARS IN OCTOBER OF 1989.

HEATHER WAS A VERY HUMOROUS PERSON WHO WOULD ALWAYS BE WILLING TO HELP. SHE LOVED WORKING AND BEING WITH PEOPLE AND SHE TAUGHT FIRST AID AND DIABETICS. SHE ENJOYED KNITTING AND SHOPPING. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE ALBERTA ASSOCIATION OF REGISTERED NURSES,THE BERRYWATER WOMEN OF UNIFARM, ORDER OF ROYAL PURPLE AND A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE BUFFALO HILLS CAMPER CLUB.

FUNERAL SERVICES AT VULCAN UNITED CHURCH WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1990
AT 1:30 P.M. WITH REV. BEVERLY HILL OFFICIATING. INTERMENT VULCAN CEMETERY.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO FORWARD DONATIONS TO THE HEATHER GERDING MEMORIAL STAFF FUND C/O VULCAN GENERAL HOSPITAL.
