FULTON, Gladys Alvina (Nee: Buehler) 1926 – 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Fulton. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Vulcan Community Health Centre Long Term Care Unit on April 3, 2021 at the age of 94.

Gladys was born in Consort on October 21, 1926, the second eldest daughter of John and Alvina Buehler. She and her eleven siblings received their education in Consort and in 1943, Gladys and her eight youngest siblings moved to the Champion area.

Gladys married Victor Fulton from Vulcan on March 7, 1947 and together they raised their daughter Laura. Vic and Gladys’ pride and joy was their daughter and their two grandchildren – Trevor and Dallas, where they often found themselves turning down important engagements just so they could babysit the grandchildren. Vic and Gladys loved to spend their winters in Arizona. They also enjoyed camping with their grandchildren, card parties and getting together with neighbours and friends. Trevor and Dallas loved going to grandmas for fresh baked cookies. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. Gladys came from a very musical family and enjoyed the many get-together with the Buehler boys, playing their instruments and singing.

Vic and Gladys retired to Vulcan from the farm in 1998. After Vic’s passing, Gladys enjoyed living at the Peter Dawson Lodge for four years before moving to Long Term Care in 2019.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Laura (Gary) Clarke of Vulcan, grandsons Trevor (Trish) Clarke of Medicine Hat and their daughter Hayes. Dallas (Toby) Clarke of Vulcan and their daughters Keeley and Cassidy, brothers Henry (Marge) Buehler, Norm (Eileen) Buehler and sister Irene Graham, brother-in-law Owen Fulton, sister-in-law Helen Fulton and numerous nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by her parents, brothers Art, Bill, Albert, Herbert, Melvin and Alfred, sisters Bertha and Ida, beloved husband Vic, brother-in-law Wesley Fulton and sister-in-law Darlene Fulton.

A private family graveside will be held.

Any tributes in Gladys’ memory can be made to the Long Term Care Unit, Vulcan Community Health Center, Box 299, Vulcan, AB, T0L 2B0.

Arrangements in care of Vulcan Funeral Home. Telephone 1-403-485-2633. E-mail condolences through www.vulcanfuneralhome.ca.

Dear Laura & Gary, Trevor & Trish, Dallas & Toby, and Gladys’ Great-Grandchildren.
We were so sorry to hear of your Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother’s passing. We will miss her no-nonsense way of saying and doing things, letting us know that we had not been to see her enough. She was always a “lady” and very gracious to everyone who came around. Laura, I know you will miss your close relationship with your Mom. Please know that she is still with you and you can still talk to her anytime. May all of you cherish your memories of her and know that she is at peace.
Love Leighton, Penny, Matt, and Theresa and Families.

Sympathy to the family. Vic & Gladys were very close friends with our family. Many social events together, Norm harvested with Vic. We always enjoyed our visits. Take care.
