DONALD EUGENE FOX
March 27, 1943 – June 14, 2020

Don Fox of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre with his family by his side on June 14, 2020, at the age of 77 years.

Don was born at Hardy, SK, one of seven children to Victor and Evelyn Fox. After finishing school in Hardy, Don ventured ‘West’, on his own, in the summer of 1960 and arrived at Vulcan. He worked as a Heavy Equipment operator for the County of Vulcan. In August of 1962, he married Rose Sharp in Vulcan. Together they raised their three children and in 1979, the family moved just west of Vulcan on a farm where they looked forward to getting back to their rural roots.

In 1974, Don branched out on his own and started a construction business building homes, renovations and concrete work. Don built 45 houses over the 35 years he was in business. When Don wasn’t working, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and good friends.

Don is survived by his three children: Boyd (Candace) Fox, Chad (Tammy) Fox and Phyllis (Russell) Fox all of Vulcan, eight grandchildren: Dona Rose, Cade, Lucas, Kody, Cam, Shane, Sable and Eden, three sisters Margaret McGillis, Louise Yeomans and Judith (Larry) Lillejord, two brothers: Bill (Gwen) Fox and Neil (Gwen) Fox, his special friend Jane, brother-in-law John (Dorothy) Sharp, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.

Don was predeceased by parents Victor and Evelyn Fox, brother Robert Fox, in-laws Bill and Helma Sharp, beloved wife Rose, brothers-in-law Bill Sharp and Bud McGillis and nephew Derek Sharp.

A Family gathering will take place at a later date.

Don’s family wishes to thank the Vulcan Community Health Centre and Palliative Care Unit for all the love, kindness and high quality care he received during his brief stay.
