Karen Anne Forestell (Dinkel) February 3, 1955- July 7, 2007

Karen died peacefully July 7, 2007 with her beloved husband Paul by her side at the Vulcan Community Health Centre. She is also survived by their children Kristi (John) Lindberg, David (Vivian), Suzanne, Jennifer (Dale) Warren; her grandchildren: Hayley, Cameron and Ethan; as well as her parents Robert and Betty Dinkel, sister Deb Dinkel(Grant), brother Michael(Patty), Aunt Crys Harse, Uncle Jon Dinkel, her cousins, her mother and father-in-law Gunda (Michael) Forestell, and their children and grandchildren.

Karen was predeceased by her grandparents, Aunt Dodo and Uncle Reg.

Karen was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. Karen began her teaching career at Mossleigh, where she became principal. She later earned her Masters of Education in Administration from the University of San Diego, California. Karen continued her work in education, becoming the principal of Milo School and, later, of Vulcan Elementary school. She continued to work as the principal of Vulcan Prairieview Elementary School until 2006, when her health would no longer permit her to work.

Karen will be remembered with respect and special affection by her friends, former colleagues and students. She often said to those close to her: “Live. Love. Laugh.”

Memorial Service for Karen will be held Tuesday July 10, 2007 at 2:00 pm. at the Vulcan Cultural Recreation Centre, 504 – 4 Street S, with Rev. Lee Spice officiating.
