Foley, Minnie Isabella passed away February 7, 2011 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 88 years.
Minnie was born November 7, 1922 at Cadillac, Saskatchewan to James and Dolina Gair as an only child she completed school and began working in Winnipeg for the Royal Canadian Air Force as a clerk. She married Mike Belbos and together they had a son James. She moved to Calgary and married Ernest Foley she worked at NorthWest Drugs, Royal Canadian Legion and the Holy Cross Hospital before she met Peter Storoshuk in Calgary in 1973 together they moved to Vulcan in 1975 to operate a dry cleaning business until it closed. She continued to reside in Vulcan until her passing.
Minnie loved her music, she played piano, accordion, violin and organ, she mostly enjoyed playing at dances in her early years and reading western pioneer books. She was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Calgary. Minnie always had a good sence of humor and had a quick witty response.
Minnie is survived by her son James (Monique) Gair, his son Michael of Toronto and a daughter Laura Foley of Vancouver.
Minnie was predeceased by her parents, first husband Mike, second husband Ernest and her common-law husband Peter Storoshuk.
Funeral service Saturday February 12, 2011 at 11 AM at Vulcan Funeral Home with Sue MacDonald officiating.
Cremation to follow with burial at a later date in the Vulcan Cemetery.
