COFIELD, Gerald H. “Buck”    1928 – 2013

Gerald “Buck” Cofield of Vulcan, formerly of Claresholm, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 5, 2013 in Vulcan at the age of 86 yrs.

Born on April 24, 1927 in Wainwright, AB, in his early years, Buck came south to the Bar U Ranch and worked there until it was sold and then worked seismic for a few years with GSI.  He went to work for the MD of Willow Creek in 1965, first from the shop, then as Assistant Fieldman until his retirement.

Buck loved sports, especially baseball and curling. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed camping and trapshooting. He also loved to garden and raising his donkeys. Buck was a lifetime member of the B.P.O.Elks Stavely Lodge and was married to wife Wanda for 65 years.

Buck is survived by his loving wife Wanda, two beloved children – daughter Jayverlin (Harold) Lewis and son Randi Cofield , two grandchildren Jory Cofield and Misty (Howard) Cofield-Forseth, two brothers Gordon of Cour’ D’Alene, ID and Howard Cofield of Wainwright and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Celebration of Life Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Stavely Community Centre, Stavely, AB with Pastor Stephen Pike officiating.

Inurnment Nanton Cemetery at a later date.
