CLEMENTS, Doris 1925 – 2025

Doris Clements passed away peacefully at South Health Campus on February 26, 2025 at the age of 99 years.

Doris was born on April 9, 1925 to Joe and Sarah Davenport in Cluny AB.  She lived on the family farm NE of Cluny along with her three brothers and two sisters. Doris attended school in Cluny, she travelled to school by horse, wagon or sleigh.

Doris married Lawrence Clements in 1950 after dating for a few years prior.  They first lived in High River and then in 1951 moved to Milo AB.  They had two children – Darlene and Larry.

Doris’ passion was playing snooker which she learned to play at the Milo Drop In Center.  She attended the Alberta Senior Games and travelled to many tournaments winning a variety of medals which were proudly displayed on her wall.  Doris also passed the time by doing puzzles and reading.  She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed having visitors and catching up on the phone with her friends.  Doris was looking forward to her big 100th birthday!  She was very excited to go shopping for a new birthday outfit and had little requests regarding the party each time we spoke.

Doris is survived by her son Larry, Grandchildren; Carla (Craig), David (Monica), Brock (Jen), Chandell (Shannon) and Ashton (Derek).  Great Grandchildren Kaydence, Logan, Hunter, Sydney, Zachary and Elliotte.

Very sorry on your loved one’s passing . I met Doris when my Mom , Phyllis Huff , was in the Vulcan Peter Dawson Lodge . When Mom and I would go back to her room we always passed Doris at the jigsaw puzzle table , stopped and had some chit chat and maybe even helped Doris with a jigsaw piece or two . Doris was a nice friendly lady . What I remember was her warmth and smile , interested in what you had to say . Unfortunate she didn’t reach her longed for 100th birthday , yet she came so close and may she celebrate in Heaven . My sincere condolences to the family .

Really sorry to hear about Doris. She was one of my favorite clients. I loved going up to see her and when my mom moved into the Lodge I could count on seeing Doris at the puzzle table. Such a sweet lady.
