CHESWICK, David John 1948 – 2021

David John Cheswick (Dave) of Carmangay, Alberta, beloved husband of Carole, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge on August 24, 2021 at the age of 73 years.

Dave was born on January 12, 1948 at Portage La Prairie, Manitoba to John and Joan Cheswick. Dave moved to Oliver, BC with his family where he got his schooling and worked at his Father’s garage alongside his brother Robert. Dave joined the Canadian Armed Forces when he was 16 years old and soon after he married his highschool sweetheart Carole. Dave served in many locations, including a Peace Keeping Tour abroad, for 27 years before retiring to Carmangay, with his wife Carole in 1991.

Dave was an avid hunter, fisherman and mechanic, spending many hours tinkering in his garage. Dave enjoyed camping and quadding all over Alberta and BC, and loved to have a few beers around the campfire with friends and family. You could hear his laugh echo throughout the area.

Dave will be missed and remembered by many. Besides his loving wife Carole, Dave is survived by his twin son & daughter, Michael and Charlene (Terry), his sister Lisa (Roy), his one granddaughter Andrea, and his niece LeAnne. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert and both of his parents.

At Dave’s request, there will be no formal service at this time. Tributes in Dave’s memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
