Jean Vera (Rowe) Chase passed away peacefully with her family present on September 30, 2006 at the Vulcan Community Health Center at the age of 87 years.

Jean was born at Woodstock, New Brunswick on April 26, 1919 and was the eldest daughter of William and Vera Rowe. In July 1935 she married Leonard Chase of Woodstock, NB and they had three daughters and two sons.

Jean was a member of the Goodwill Service Club and Home and School Association. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was the assistant postmistress at Lomond for several years. Jean was active in theater programs in the community.

Jean leaves to mourn her passing three children Lois (Ralph) Richardson of Cherhill, Charlotte (Robert) Nimz of Kirkcaldy and Terry (Bonny) Chase of Cherhill, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Jean is predeceased by her husband Leonard, a daughter and a son, two brothers Bill and Victor Rowe, a sister Elva (Jim) Teasdale and her parents William and Vera Rowe.

Graveside service was held Friday, October 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Barrie officiating.

Inurnment Field of Honor Vulcan Cemetery.
