CAUSEY, Louretta Oma 1920 – 2008

Oma Louretta Causey finished her journey of life on this earth on September 30, 2008 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 88 years.

Louretta, only child of Champion pioneers, the late Fred and Oma Clever, was born March 4, 1920 at Vulcan Alberta.  She was the grand daughter of Martin George Clever, founder of Cleverville, later renamed Champion after the town site was relocated closer to the railway.  Louretta had a full, rich, happy life growing up with many friends and devoted parents.  She married Dave Causey in August, 1942 and together they farmed side by side with her parents.

Louretta will be remembered for her radiant smile, whistling abilities, gourmet cooking, spotless housekeeping, love of pets and the ability to look like she just stepped out of the latest fashion magazine.  She was full of fun and eager to join in most community activities. Louretta suffered a severe stroke shortly after receiving the news of Dave’s terminal illness ten years ago.  After his passing, she lost a lot of the twinkle in her eye but tried her best to remain positive in spite of her afflictions.  Her greatest love was her family.

The encouragement and kindness given to Louretta by the dedicated staff at the Vulcan Hospital, Peter Dawson Lodge and Extendicare was greatly appreciated by her family.

Louretta is survived by her daughter LaRee, three grandchildren, Angela, Lisa and Leroy, three great grandchildren Autume, Aiden and Gavin.

Louretta was predeceased by her husband Dave and her parents.
