Richardson, Margaret Isabel, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at Vulcan Community Health Centre on October 16, 2013 at the age of 93 years.
Beloved wife of the late Ed Richardson, loving mother of daughters Helen (Bill) Olinik of Regina and Lynne (Bill) Sharp of High River, eight grandchildren; Debra (Dennis) Meyer, Dawna Skagen, Dwayne (Andrea Henry) Sparks, Denise (Les) Paul, Jan Loree (Derrick) Hurl, Darren (Stacey) Sharp,  Brent (Cathy) Olinik, Garth (Sharon) Olinik, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hartung, Lillian passed away at Vulcan Extendicare October 14, 2013 at the age of 94 years.
Lillian was born October 21, 1918 near Burstall, Saskatchewan to John and Mary Schierman.   The family moved to Queenstown where she attended Griffen School  and took several subjects by correspondence. She worked in Calgary, Alberta from 1936 to1941.
Lillian married George Hartung on the Schierman family farm, east of Vulcan, where Terry and Linda Schierman reside, and after their marriage, they lived on a farm east of Champion before moving six and a half miles north of Vulcan.  In July 1973, they moved into Vulcan. George

Frederick Henry Selland passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 84, three months after the passing of his beloved wife Peggy.
Fred was born November 10, 1928 in Champion, Alberta. He attended school in Champion and attended the University of Alberta obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree. He was an accomplished musician playing the piano and clarinet. He traveled in his younger days and it was on a ship to Europe that he met a British nurse who was returning to England from working in California and Toronto. They corresponded for some time

Alexander “Alex” Plytka of Vulcan, passed away September 16, 2013 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 82 years.
Alex was born in Bellevue, AB, to parents Peter and Rose Plytka. After spending his youth in the Crowsnest Pass, he later moved to the family farm in the Alston district at Vulcan, AB with his parents and brother Steve.
Alex enjoyed visiting with his many friends and neighbors, always greeting them with a joyous smile.
Alex is survived by his faithful brother Steve, sister Mary Mazur and twelve nieces and nephews and their families. Alex was pre-deceased by his parents, sisters Sophie Olson,

Richard Arlin Hegland passed away suddenly in his Vulcan home on September 10, 2013 at the age of 64 years.
Born in Vulcan, Alberta on March 4, 1949 Richard was the third child of Earl and Agnes Hegland and youngest brother to siblings Darlaine and David.  He attended Champion School and County Central High School in Vulcan, graduating in Canada’s Centennial year 1967.  Richard held several jobs over the years, but always stayed to true to his love of farming and ranching, first with his Dad and David at the old Travers homestead, then with David in Enchant, and most recently

Frederick Louis “Junior” Bertschy, beloved husband of Nancy of Milo, passed away on August 29, 2013 at High River, at the age of 91 years.

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother in her 90th year, at her home in the Vulcan Hospital, Vulcan Long Term Care Unit, on August 24, 2013.
Mom was born Feb.25, 1923 at Redcliff, AB and raised in the Queenstown district, where she also attended Willard School.
Mabel was one of eight children born to Samson and Alma Hellevang, Norwegians who came to Canada from the United States. Her parents were farmers and also owned a “Well Boring” outfit which was powered by one horse and by traveling near and far to
