Grace Williams of Strathmore, formerly of Arrowwood, passed away at Sagewood AgeCare in Strathmore on January 24, 2024 at the age of 101 years.
Grace is survived by her children, son Tom (Ruth) Williams, grandchildren Judy(Duane) Ashbacher, Darren (Melissa) Williams, Clark (Debbie) Williams, daughters Brenda Kirkham, grandchildren Kim (Randy) Gatz, Kelly (Nick) Talerico, Kyla (Murray) Rodych, daughters Gloria Williams and Diane (Lee) Heimskirk, as well as 15 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Hurley in 2014, a young son Billy in 1951, and an infant daughter Shirley in 1954, her parents

Shirley Doreen Ertmoed (nee Mix) of Turner Valley, AB, passed away January 20th, 2024, at the age of 92 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Shirley was born August 1, 1931 in Vulcan, AB, the youngest child to Karl Gustav Martin and Nettie Austina Mix. Shirley later moved to an acreage outside of Vulcan with her husband Harry until 1993 when Harry passed away. She then moved to Turner Valley, AB to be closer to family.

Allan Sim of Vulcan, passed away at the Vulcan Extendicare on January 4, 2024 at the age of 96 years.
Allan Douglas Sim was born in Vulcan, Alberta on April 29, 1927, only child of David B. Sim and Kathryn Sim (Mills). He resided with his parents on the farm in the Berrywater district and learned how to farm alongside his father. He attended school at Berrywater for nine years until the school was closed and then finished his schooling in Vulcan. While he was young he became an avid reader. McLaughlin, Marguerite Wineva, beloved mother of a daughter Bev McLaughlin, passed away on December 30, 2023 in Calgary at the age of 86 years.
Marguerite was born September 4, 1937, in Vulcan, Alberta to Winter and Neva Speer. Spent a few years in Dewinton, and in the Reid Hill district as a child, before moving to Vulcan. Marguerite moved to Sudbury, Ontario for 8 years and worked for the Nickle Range Hotel, the Caswell Hotel, and the Sudbury Police Department.
In 1970 she returned to Calgary, Alberta, where she worked for Pacific 66, AGT, Calgary Cable Cast, PWA, IBM and Atlantis Oil
SHARP, Edna ‘Lynne’ 1946 – 2023
It’s with great sadness that the family of Lynne Sharp announce her peaceful passing, at the Tudor Manor, Okotoks December 26, 2023 at the age of 77 years.
Lynne was born in Vulcan, AB on September 23, 1946, second daughter of Ed and Margaret Richardson. She attended grades one through twelve in Vulcan.
After growing up in the same community together, Lynne married Bill Sharp on October 30, 1965 and they resided on the family farm. Together, they raised two children – Jan Loree and Darren. In 1973, Bill and Lynne purchased the farm from his parents after they retired to Vulcan.

Born January 25, 1928, George was raised in the small town of Arrowwood, Alberta where he grew up under less than luxurious conditions. George worked for many years as a commercial fisherman at McGregor Lake. His true love was riding his motorcycle which he rode into his early 80s.

Albert “Lee” Roy Somerville was born November 29,1942 in Vulcan, Alberta to Bert & Simone Somerville. He lived, went to school and worked in Vulcan throughout his life. Albert Edgar Vanner of Vulcan, passed away following a brief illness, at Vulcan Extendicare on December 6, 2023 at the age of 96 years.
Albert worked in the trades in his early years before becoming a farmer west of Innisfail. During the past 25 years, he bought homes in Torrington, Lomond and Champion. He renovated his homes and always planted a garden. He enjoyed the outdoors but could also bake a great pie!
