DAVEY, Richard Wayne – 1939-2014
Davey, Richard Wayne of Champion, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the age of 74 years.
Wayne was born on October 17, 1939 in Claresholm. He moved to Champion in 1945 where he went to school from grades 1 – 12. He married Jean Ellen Schneider in June 1959. They moved their home to the Davey homestead in 1964, where he and Jean lived and farmed until his untimely death.

Hyslip, Erin Leanne, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at Vulcan Community Health Centre on June 18, 2014 at the age of 20 years.
Erin was born in Vulcan to Noel and Deb Hyslip in 1993. She attended Hazel Cameron Elementary and County Central High School, graduating Grade 12 in 2011. Erin was currently enrolled in her second year of Business Management at the University of Lethbridge when diagnosed with Osteosarcoma.

Willms, Katharina Jacob “Tina”, of Calgary (formerly of Coaldale), passed away in Calgary on June 18, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
Tina Willms was the seventh child born to Jacob and Anna (Thiessen) Siemens on January 10, 1921 in Neuendorf, Ukraine. In 1930 at the age of 9, her father, being a minister, was taken and put into jail. That same year, her mother with seven children resettled to a small village called Blumengart.

Brown, Yvonne Betty “Bonnie”, of Nanton (formerly of Vulcan), passed away at Silver Willow Lodge in Nanton, Alberta on June 18, 2014 at the age of 77 years.
A Graveside service and interment will take place at the Baldwin Cemetery, Baldwin, Ontario at a later date.

Dixon, Gerald William, of Vulcan (formerly of Carstairs), passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on June 8, 2014 at the age of 83 years.
Gerald was born July 6, 1930 in Mono Center, ON. He was the 6th child of 8, born to Charles and Annie Dixon. Gerald moved to Alberta in 1950. Over the next two decades, he worked on the farms of Elmer Rogers, Jesse Davies, Alister Groundwater and Curtis Clark (Acme Holsteins).
In 1965 he married the love of his life Deanna Klys. Together, they raised their 3 children Doug, Joanne & Susan.

Locken, Alberta Elizabeth, of Calgary (formerly of Vulcan), passed away in Calgary on May 26, 2014 at the age of 89 years.
Alberta was born in Vulcan to Abram and Maria Schenk on November 8, 1924. She attended school until Grade 8 in Vulcan. Alberta married John Locken in 1946 and they lived in various locations before moving back to Vulcan in 1961. Alberta continued to live in Vulcan until moving to Prince of Peace Manor in Calgary in 2010, then Prince of Peace Harbor in 2013 where she resided until her passing.

Leora Jensen (1935-2014)
Leora Anna Jensen of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2014, at the age of 78 years.
Leora was born on May 15, 1935 in Champion, Alberta to Robert and Anna Maxwell.  She joined her older sister, Audrey.  Leora’s love of Champion started at a young age, as she enjoyed riding her bike around town and all of the adventures that would ensue!
After graduating high school, Leora moved to Calgary for secretary school working for two years to save money for a trip of a lifetime—three months to Europe in the spring of 1958.  She still spoke

Allan Ross Walker of Vulcan, AB passed away peacefully April 13, 2014 in the Vulcan Health Center at the age of 88.
Allan was born March 3, 1926 in Vulcan to Ross and Gail Walker. He grew up close to Reid Hill, attended grade school there and high school in Vulcan. Allan attended the University of Alberta graduating a civil engineer. Allan came back to the farm after school till 1955, when he went to work for M.W. Kellogg as an engineer, he built numerous gas refineries around North America. Allan met Myrtle Shaver and they were married in 1959. They
