Schumacher, Annetta Marie, formerly of Vulcan, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge on November 19, 2014 at the age of 90 years. Annetta is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Annetta was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and a friend to many throughout her life.
Annetta was born at Vulcan Hospital on February 21, 1924 but lived in the Champion district. She attended Champion School in grade one, grades 2 to 8 at Hiawatha Country School and completed her education at Champion High School.

Marshall, Melbourne “Mel” Newton, of Lethbridge (formerly of Vulcan), beloved husband of Charlotte for 61 years, passed away at the Fairmont Park Extendicare in Lethbridge with his family at his side, on November 11, 2014 at the age of 88 years.
Mel was born and raised in Vulcan on February 2, 1926 to Bill and Chloe Marshall, along with siblings Norman and Ruth. Mel attended school at Union Jack, Lomond and Mossleigh Schools. He joined the Army when he was 18 and was ranked as a Royal Canadian Engineer. He was discharged at the age of 19.
