den Tuinder, Sally Ann, of Vulcan, beloved wife of Jake, passed away suddenly at home on June 5, 2016 at the age of 64 years.
Besides her husband Jake, Sally is survived by her mother – Doris Schlaphoff, her three children – Braden Sproule, Rachel (Jaben) Sproule and Sandi (Daryl) Richard, two grandchildren – Bonnie & Ellis, her siblings – Sue (Jim) Marquand, Fred (Inga) Schlaphoff, Linda (Len) Gedak, Jeanie (Ken) Warkentin and Bill Schlaphoff, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Erwin “Fritz” Schlaphoff.

UMSCHEID, Margaret Alma (nee: Garland) passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on June 5, 2016 at the age of 86 years.
Margaret was born in Regina, SK on April 18th, 1930, the only child of Ralph and Maggie (Andrews) Garland. When she was two years old, her parents moved to Flat Valley, SK where she lived for thirteen years, returning to Regina to finish high school. In 1951, she graduated as an R.N. from the Regina General Hospital School of Nursing. In 1953, Margaret moved to Calgary and worked at the Calgary General Hospital for four years. She

MORLEY, Eric Claude 1928 – 2016
Morley, Eric Claude, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre May 31, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
Eric was born September 5, 1928 in Georgeville, Ontario to George and Doris Morley. He took his schooling in Georgeville and Grade 7 in Morton, ON. In the early days, Eric worked at the Steel Factory making propane tank ends, then worked at a lumber camp near Napanee where he had his own team of horses. In 1947, Eric came west on a Harvest Excursion and in 1948 he came to Carmangay where he worked for Mrs. McFarland.
WITTENBERG, John Philip 1954 – 2016
Wittenberg, John Philip , of Vulcan, beloved husband of Sher, passed away suddenly at home on May 15, 2016 at the age of 61 years.
John was born in Vancouver then moved to Summerland, BC in his teens and then on to Calgary where he began his career with ATCO Gas. He resided in Calgary until he transferred to Vulcan in 2006. John retired from ATCO in 2012, after 34 years of dedicated service.
Some of John’s numerous interests included scuba diving, darts, pool, stained glass, and cooking; but his biggest love was his garden, both vegetables and flowers. His other great

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Art, on May 3, 2016 at Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 78.
Art, formerly of Carmangay, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Valerie of Carmangay, one son Jody (Carole) Cogdale of Melfort, SK and one daughter Cindy (Murray) Stich of Calgary, AB, three grandsons, Shane (Syarrah) Deckert, Fisher Cogdale and Brayden Cogdale, three great grandsons, Nixon, Colin and Finley Deckert. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Johan.

Brown, Marjorie Helen (affectionately known as The Gremlin), of Vulcan, passed away at the South Health Campus, Calgary, Alberta on April 13, 2016.
Marjorie is survived by her three daughters Carla, Rhonda and Tania, four grandchildren Carrie, Dean, Robbie and Alana, great grandchildren Ashley, Josh, Dalton and Angie, great great grandchildren Nicholas, Gage and Iralyn.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Ruth Whiteman and husband James Robert Brown.
A Family Memorial Service and lnurnment will be held at a later date at the Fonthill Cemetery and Chapel in Fonthill, Ontario.

Ann Van Spankeren, beloved wife of John, passed through the gates of heaven on April 12, 2016 at the age of 68, at the Vulcan Community Health Center. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family
Ann is survived by her husband John, children; Cathy (Dwayne), Michael (Iyaye), Shawn (Colleen), Teresa (Matt) and her cherished grandchildren Kelly, Ashley, Sarah, Jakob, Dylan, Ethan, Erin and Boma.
Ann was born December 27, 1947 in Bodegraven, Holland. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1952 to Cochrane, Ontario. The following year they moved to Toronto, where she met her devoted husband John in 1963.
McKENNA, Frank 1942 – 2016
McKenna, Frank, of Vulcan, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre April 12, 2016 at the age of 73 years.
Frank is survived by his children Lynn, David and Karen, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his mum Helen McKenna, three brothers, their wives and children.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Vulcan Legion Hall (240 Sinclair Road, Vulcan).
