Verna Virginia Wisener (nee McGhee) of Calgary passed away peacefully on October 13, 2017 at the age of 94 years.
Verna was born in Drumheller, Alberta and raised on Turtleback Farm in the community of Orkney. Following high school in Drumheller, she attended secretarial school in Calgary. While working for a Calgary law firm she met the love of her life Ira whom she married January 26, 1946. Hartung, Helanda, of Vulcan, passed away unexpectedly at the Vulcan Hospital on September 18th, just one week after her 84th birthday.
She was born in Weyburn, SK, the 10th child of Herman & Huldine Deimert and eventually one of 13 siblings. At an early age she was introduced to the saving grace of Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Savior, beginning a lifetime of faith and service in His name. Burke, Roger Donel, of Carmangay, beloved husband of Beryl, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre September 7, 2017 at the age of 71 years.
Roger was born Dec.5, 1945 in Carmangay, youngest son of Lethrie and June Burke. He grew up in the Carmangay area and attended school here. After leaving school early on, Roger decided to later pursue his High School Equivalency Diploma which he received in 1997.
Roger took on many tasks throughout his life – picking rocks, hard rock mining, truck driving, trailer building and a number of oil field jobs. In 1968 he met the love

It’s with great sadness that the family of Carl William “Bill” Sharp announce his peaceful passing, at the Foothills Country Hospice, Okotoks, AB on August 24, 2017 at the age of 72 years.
Bill was born in Vulcan on January 2, 1945, oldest son of Bill and Helma Sharp. He attended Grades 1 to 6 in Vulcan, then after moving to the previous Lynn Oldfield farm in 1957, he completed his schooling in Milo. After school, he remained at home to help his dad with the farm.

Edna was born in Medicine Hat, AB on November 29, 1927, the first of three children to Iver and Clara Kana. Edna and her siblings, Irene and Norman, were raised on a sheep ranch in Pendent d’Orielle, southwest of Medicine Hat. Edna married her first husband Vincent Tuttle in 1952 and farmed in the Glasford district near Orion, AB. Together they had five sons. Vincent passed away suddenly in 1967 and Edna

Stumpf, Lorraine of Milo, passed away at the Calgary South Health Campus on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the age of 88 years.
Lorraine was born in the Arrowwood Hospital on February 3, 1929 to John Robert and Annie Goldthorpe, who were English homesteaders in the Eastway district. Lorraine was the youngest of six children and attended Eastway and Buffalo Schools. They milked 14 cows before heading to school by horseback. Mom had a unique style of milking – thumbs turned inward. One of her favorite teachers was Nancy (Holoboff) Kingsmith. They had a typical homesteader’s childhood and she often relayed
