Judith Marian “Judy” Johnson, of Vulcan, beloved wife of Ken, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on November 18, 2019 at the age of 79 years.   Thanks for the memories Mum! We announce with heavy hearts that Richard Wagner (REW) passed away suddenly on November 20, 2019.

Richard will be sorely missed by his soulmate and best friend Gina Lute, his brothers John, Freeman (wife Madonna) sisters Debra (husband Donald pre-deceased) and Holly, stepdaughter Alysia (husband Donovan), two granddaughters, nieces and nephews, family and friends, his mother Catherine and step father Jack, and father Ray.

Richard and Gina were enjoying their lives together in the small community of Carmangay. Where you saw Gina’s shadow, you would see Richards shadow. Richard enjoyed helping the community with his giving spirit. He enjoyed all four seasons

Ron Hunter passed away suddenly on November 11, 2019, in a fatal motorcycle accident in Mexico, at the age of 69 years.

Ron grew up and continued to live and work on the farm near Ensign, AB. He was a good farmer and loved his work. Through his endeavors, he found the pleasures of life and success of work, to retire early and he enjoyed his final years living part time in Mexico. His passion to ride his motorcycle down many roads and highways in that beautiful country, never tiring of the adventure.

The family of George Charles “Chuck” Stokes of Vulcan, beloved husband of Arlene, are saddened to announce his passing at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on November 6, 2019 at the age of 75 years. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Chuck was born November 13, 1943 in Vulcan, Alberta to George and Amy Stokes. Chuck was raised on the family farm near Armada, Alberta, the oldest of four children. After his marriage to Arlene, the couple farmed near Lomond, Alberta, where they raised their family. Chuck was very active in the Lomond community where he spent time with the

Kenneth Orville “Ken” Nadobny of Rockyford, passed away peacefully at the Strathmore Hospital on October 29, 2019 at the age of 48 years.

Ken is survived by his two children – Dana (Adam) Davies of Lethbridge, Cody Davies of Strathmore, their mother Christine (Kunkel) Nadobny of Langdon, two grandchildren Draydin and Trenton

Klemenz, Linda Jean (nee: Howg), formerly of Lomond and Calgary, peacefully passed away at Vulcan Extendicare on October 18, 2019 at the age of 70 years.

Linda was born and raised on the farm between Lomond and Enchant until the age of 17, at which time she went to Calgary to attend Nursing Aide School. Linda graduated as a certified Nursing Aide in 1968 and started working at the Calgary General Hospital on the Cardiology Ward for a year and a half. She then moved for a short time to the Bethany Care Centre.

Richard Clarke Burgess of Calgary, beloved son of Dorothy Burgess of Champion, passed away at the South Calgary Health Campus on September 4, 2019 at the age of 67 years.

Besides his mother Dorothy, Richard is survived by his siblings – Rosemarie (Eldon) Kube, Cynthia Houston, Trish (Glen Barker) Gibson, Ron Burgess and Darrell (Cheryl) Burgess. He was predeceased by his father Gordon Burgess in 2013.

Dale Wayne Hart of Lomond, passed away at home on August 28, 2019 at the age of 63 years.

Wayne, as he liked to go by, was raised and spent the vast majority of his life in the Lomond community. He was interested in sports at a young age and spent much of his teenage years very involved in hockey. He was proud to be a farmer in the Lomond community until health issues prevented him from continuing.

The family of Maury Maxwell Groves of Champion, are saddened to announce his sudden passing at home on August 17, 2019 at the age of 59 years.

Maury was born December 18, 1959 in Calgary, AB to Keith and Barbara (Poffenroth) Groves. He received his education in Champion and Vulcan Schools. Maury then attended Medicine Hat College for one year, playing football for the Rattlers. He attended SAIT for two years and was active in their curling program. Maury worked various jobs until starting in the pipe fitting trade, of which he continued working at until his passing.
