Melvin Magnuson, formerly of Lomond and Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB on May 23, 2019 at the age of 97 years.

Mel was born on February 20, 1922 at Lomond, Alberta to Ingvald and Tillie Magnuson. He, along with his siblings, were raised on the farm near Armada, AB. Mel married Edna (Brown) in 1944 and they purchased his Uncle John’s farm next to his father’s farm and they enjoyed raising grain crops and livestock.

McAuley, Ronald “Ron” Neal, of Lomond, beloved husband of Janet, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on May 8, 2019 at the age of 82 years.

Ron was born in Edmonton, AB on December 7, 1936 to Donald and Bertha McAuley. He was their only child. His early years were spent in many areas of Alberta due to his fathers service in the Army during the second World War. Velma Audrey Miller, of Vulcan, was called home to her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2019 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre, at the age of 89 years.

Velma was born on February 9, 1930 in Saint John, New Brunswick. She was the youngest of three children born to Leland and Grace Ryder. In 1955 Velma married David Miller. They had two children, Peter David and Grace Kimberley. The family moved to Calgary in 1968 and the Berrywater district in 1992.

Velma and Dave were a match made in heaven. They especially loved to dance and they were amazing to watch.
