Monte Rose quietly and peacefully reached the end of his trail, on Friday, July 15, 2022, aged 83. Monte had an eclectic, even bizarre sense of humour. Everyone that knew him has a Monte story to tell.
He started his career with National Parks in a small patrol cabin on the shores of Waterton Lake in about 1960. He credits a correspondence course in Conservation that landed him a Park Warden position in Lake Louise a decade later. Richard ‘Dick’ Hall of Vulcan, beloved husband of the late Elaine Hall, passed away at South Health Campus in Calgary on July 3, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
Dick was born in Leeds, Quebec on Aug 31, 1933 to William and Emily Hall. The family moved west when he was about 5 years old. After being in Alberta for a few years, they finally settled in the Blackie area.

It’s with great sadness that the family of Joyce Cook of Carmangay AB. announces her passing on July 3, 2022 at the Vulcan Community Health Center at the age of 78.
Joyce was born June 3, 1944 in Grande Prairie AB. Joyce will be sadly missed by her husband of 35 years Ray Cook of Carmangay, AB and by 2 sons John Grant and Scott ( Dianne) Grant, 6 grandchildren (3 granddaughters and 3 grandsons) and 3 great granddaughters, all in Australia, her brother Mike (Sylvia) Blummenchein of Whitehorse NWT and a Special Aunt Mabel Shapiro

It is with deep sadness the family of Marlene Healy announces her peaceful passing on July 2, 2022 at the Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 81.
Marlene was born in Edmonton on March 13, 1941 to Eva and Lewis Ivers. She grew up in Milo, Alberta. After high school, she worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia until she married Lorne Healy on August 20, 1960. She began her married life on the Healy family farm and remained there until 1990 when she and Lorne moved to the acreage in Vulcan. In 2019, she had to move into the Extendicare

Marilyn Rose Wogsberg of Lomond, beloved wife of Bill, passed away on March 4, 2022 at the age of 59 years.
Besides her loving husband Bill, Marilyn is survived by her daughter Shelby (Josh) and son Jonah, mother-in-law LaVerla, and sister-in-laws Laura (Randy), Lavinia (Bruce), Roberta (Mike) and Denise (Doug). She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Larry and father-in-law Wilhelm.
Marilyn was born in Smith Falls, ON and raised in Montreal, QB. She moved to Alberta in 1983 and completed her Criminal Justice Diploma through the Lethbridge College and worked as a Special Constable with the city of Wetaskiwin and prison guard

Ruth Lorraine (nee: Clark) Dann passed away in Vulcan on June 7, 2022 at the age of 97 years.
Ruth was born July 14, 1924 on a farm near Vulcan, AB, the second daughter of Percy and Etta Clark. She attended school with her older sister Eileen and two younger brothers Lloyd and Myrel at Boyne School, just two miles west of the farm. Both girls attended grades eight through twelve in Vulcan. Following school, Ruth trained to become a telephone operator at the AGT exchange in Vulcan, working there from 1942 to until around 1947. During the early war years,

Jerry David Wylie
Nov.12, 1937 – May 28, 2022
Jerry David Wylie of Vulcan, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on May 28, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Jerry was the second child born to William and Mary Wylie. Jerry started school at Alston and attended the remaining school years in Vulcan. Through his working career, he was a parts-man for R & G, in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed at St. John’s, Quebec and Clinton, ON. He was honor guard for Princess Margaret when she visited Canada. He returned to Alberta and started apprenticing for Ron Buehler

David Lawrence Lanktree of Vulcan, beloved husband of Terry, passed away unexpectedly at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on May 27, 2022 at the age of 60 years.
Besides his loving wife Terry, David is survived by his daughter Kellie (Michael), sons Owen (Kayley) and Clarke (Katie), granddaughters Ruby and Lily, mother Margaret, brother Brian (Carrie) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Percy, parents-in-law Ruby and Otto, nephews Eric and Kent, sister-in-law Marion, and brother-in-law Ron.

Eva Frances McNicoll of Vulcan, beloved wife of Rene, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on May 5, 2022 at the age of 78 years.
Eva was born on July 9, 1943 in Bassano, AB to John and Frances Irwin of Arrowwood. Eva had a leather and craft business in Drayton Valley for a few years before moving to Calgary to open a new business in Exclusive Silk Ltd. This furthered her interest in art and flower sales. She met Rene McNicoll and they married in 1987.

Love, Marjorie (Evans), beloved wife of 67 years of the Late Frank Love, passed away on May 1, 2022 at the age of 89 years.
Marjorie was born November 23, 1932 on the family homestead of Casswallen and Ethel Evans near Strachan, AB. She was one of ten children.
After moving to the Berrywater area for work, Marjorie met, fell in love with and married Frank Love in 1951. They moved to the Love family farm where they farmed together for 67 years before poor health forced them to move into Vulcan.
