Oldest Son of Larry & Wendy Vannatta. Brother to Curtis (April) Vannatta and Lisa (Jay) Uncle to Preston Vannatta who he cherished so much. Grandson to Sonny & Marina Vannatta. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friend to Many. Stevens “furbaby” Watson. Predeceased by his loving Grandparents Ed and Helanda Hartung.

Leona Akitt passed away peacefully at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre in Claresholm on April 29, 2023 at the age of 97 years.
Leona was born on the Rosenkranz homestead east of Carmangay on September 12, 1925. She was married to Bert Akitt in 1953 and came to live at what became Wolf Coulee Ranch, located east of Carmangay until 1989. They then bought a house in Vulcan and took up residence there, but sadly Bert passed away shortly thereafter. Leona continued to make her home in Vulcan until 2013. The family of Wendy MacKenzie of Vulcan are saddened to announce her passing at Calgary South Campus on April 5, 2023 at the age of 64 years.
Wendy and Taxi MacKenzie lived at Bassano and Dorothy before moving back to the farm at Milo in 1994 and after that, moved to Vulcan, AB. Wendy attended her schooling from grade 1 until grade 9 in Milo and eventually finished her studies in Vulcan. In 1998, she took on the responsibility of her grand-daughter Star.

Rosslyn George Zuehlke was born January 11, 1945 at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta to George and Mabel Zuehlke. He was raised at the family farm East of Warner, AB with his three younger siblings, Corinne (Bruce), Garnette (Monte), and Armand (Bonnie).

Plenny Harold Anderson, formerly of Champion, beloved husband of Betty, passed away at the Calgary South Campus on March 9, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
Plenny, the 4th child of Clarence and Lydia Anderson of Carmangay, was born March 11, 1935 . He, along with his 7 siblings, attended elementary school in Barhill and graduated from Carmangay School. After graduation, Plenny attended Olds Ag College in 1954.
Plenny married Betty Anderson of Champion, in July of 1957. They lived in Lethbridge, then moved to Carmangay then Champion. Plenny started his farming career in 1956. They moved to the home place

Laureen Auestad of Lethbridge (formerly of Milo), beloved wife of Ralph Auestad, passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on November 11, 2022 at the age of 80 years.
Laureen was born December 8,1941 in Lac La Biche, AB, to Jacob and Pearl Hayduk and raised here along with her siblings Gail and Richard. She attended school in Lac La Biche, graduating from high school in 1958. She then worked for the Imperial Bank of Canada from 1958 to 1960 in Edmonton and then for the Bank of Montreal in Calgary from 1960 to 1967.

Lloyd Cass Graham, of Vulcan, passed away at the Vulcan Extendicare February 24, 2023 at the age of 100 years.
Lloyd was born July 11, 1922 in Vulcan to Leila and Clifford Graham. He farmed in Vulcan all his life. He began curling in high school and in 1948, he skipped an all Graham rink at the Foothills Bonspiel and won the Grand Aggregate.

Edith Mabel Warren (nee Williams) passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Center on January 29, 2023, at the age of 93. She lived a full life and was very independent, living in her own home along the golf course.
Edith’s family was most important to her. Edith married Hubert on October 29, 1948, settling on the farm west of Champion. The “Fireguard” bunch raised children together, travelled together and had lots of fun at community events. Edith was a truck, combine and tractor operator in their early years of farming.
