Walter William Clements of Vulcan, Alberta, formerly of High River passed away at Vulcan Extendicare Friday April 11, 2003 at the age of 85 years.
Walter was born April 5, 1918 at Richdale, Alberta to William and Florence Clements. He received his education at the Union Jack school, Corbihill school and Provost schools. After completing his schooling in the late 1930’s he moved and farmed in the Lindale area. On November 18, 1944 he married Mayme Neff at Carnwood, Alberta. William Joseph “Joe” McCombe, of Lomond, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday April 11, 2003 at the age of 89 years.
Joe was born on May 22, 1913 at Alcan near Taber, Alberta. He grew up on the homestead west of Travers and completed grade 8 at Yetwood School before taking a mechanics course in Calgary. Joe married Ragna Nelson on March 31, 1949, farmed the homestead until its sale in 1951 and moved to central Alberta in 1953. Emma Kathleen Root, of Lomond passed away April 6, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 72 years.
Emma was born July 18, 1930 in Glenboro, Manitoba to Robert and Ida Dodds. Following her schooling at the Glenboro school, Emma worked as a housekeeper looking after children. She moved west to Medicine Hat and then to Lomond in 1953, where she kept house for Mervin and Inez Liebreich. Emma met Jerry Root and they were married in Medicine Hat in June of the same year. James “Bob” Monner, of Milo passed away April 6, 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Center at the age of 81 years.
Bob was born April 9, 1921 at Gleichen, Alberta to Michael and Myrtle (nee: Baker). He attended Pioneer School for eight years, then Milo and completed High School at Western Canada High in Calgary. Bob joined the RCAF on September 1, 1941, trained as a mechanic in Edmonton and St. Thomas, Ontario. He served in Mont Joli, Quebec, then served with the 426 Bomber Squadron at Linton on Ouse, England.

Albert Schierman of Vulcan was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 25, 2003 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 78 years.
Albert was born in Calgary, Alberta August 15, 1924 to John and Mary (Dippel) Schierman. He grew up near Queenstown Alberta (1925-1937) where he attended Griffen school and near Vulcan (since 1937) where he attended Snake Creek school. Harvey George “Swede” Robertson, formerly of Vulcan and recently of Stavely, Alberta passed away suddenly at Calgary, Alberta February 23, 2003 at the age of 73 years.
Born in Champion, Alberta on January 13, 1930 to Bright and Sadie Robertson and raised in the Champion – Carmangay area, Swede was known for his athletic ability, especially in tennis, badminton and baseball.
