Elma Kathryn King, formerly of the Arrowwood district passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre, Long Term Care Unit, where she resided for the past four years. January 27, 2004 at the age of 91 years.
Elma will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons Glen of Innisfail, Roy (Gail) and Gordon (Lois) all of Arrowwood, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Myra King of Calgary, numerous nieces and nephews.
Elma was predeceased by her husband Lorne in 1985, a daughter Carol in 2000, two brothers and their wives Lewis (Lily) Bull and George (Grace) Bull, parents

Constantino “Tino” Pasolli, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2004 at his home at the age of 80 years.
Tino was born in Cavedine, Italy on July 15, 1923, the second son of Evaristo and Maria Pasolli. He immigrated to Canada in 1925 to the Hardieville area. In 1932 the family moved to the Reid Hill District where Evaristo co-owned a coal mine. Tino and his brothers Livio and Sev worked in the mine until they closed in 1968. Beatrice Kathleen “Kathy” Standing passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2004 at Peter Dawson Lodge at the age of 75 years.
Kathy was born September 12, 1928 at King’s Street, Plymouth England to Edward and Rosa Mabel Jane Brown (nee Cunningham). She attended Camel’s Head School from the age 3 to 14 until she felt it necessary to leave school to help support her family. Kathy later returned to night school to complete her grade 12. Freeda Maxine Maisey died January 2, 2004 at the age of 94 years, at the Vulcan Community Health Centre.
Freeda was born February 20, 1909 in Garwin, Iowa to Herman and Shada Dunbar. In 1917 Freeda, her parents, two sisters and two brothers came to Canada by train so her father could work for Frank Maiden. She attended Thigh Hill, Harvey and Vulcan schools. In 1923 the family returned to the United States. Because of a bad investment, the family returned to Alberta to work on the Maiden farm.

Eileen Marie Haga was called home to her Lord and Saviour Thursday January 1, 2004 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 82 years.
Eileen was born July 23, 1921 at Vulcan, Alberta to Percy and Henrietta Clark. She attended Boyne and Vulcan schools. Following her education she worked in High River as a housekeeper. In 1940 she met Ivan Haga and they were united in marriage on March 19, 1942 in Vulcan. Dorothy Jean Phillips, of Champion, Alberta passed away Monday, December 29 2003 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 79 years.
Dorothy was born January 7, 1924 at Nanton, Alberta to Charles and Irene Koch. She attended Arthur, Cayley and Nanton schools. At the age of seventeen she married Glen Ransom and together they had two children. Glen enlisted in the war and while over Berlin was killed in 1944. Mary-Jane Hilz of Vulcan, Alberta passed away Monday, December 29 2003 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 76 years.
Mary-Jane was born at the Blackie Hospital on February 28, 1927 and grew up in the Herronton area. She met Bill in 1950 and three months later they were married in the Farrow United Church. Mary-Jane and her husband Bill farmed and raised their five children in the Vulcan area. William James “Jim” Davis, of Fort Macleod, formerly of Nanton passed away on Saturday December 20, 2003 at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital at the age of 76 years.
Jim was born November 14, 1927 at Goven, Saskatchewan to William and Winifred Davis. Jim attended school at Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan for a short time then began working on thrashing crews in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He settled in Prince Albert and worked for Prince Albert Cleaners. Jim met his first wife Florence Pilon in 1950 and later they were married. ZILKE, Edward “Ed” 1925 – 2003
Edward “Ed” Zilke of Vulcan, Alberta, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, after a long courageous battle with cancer on Sunday December 14, 2003 at the age of 78 years.
Ed was born in Poznan, Poland on October 25, 1925. He was the eldest of five children born to John and Bertha Zilke. Ed served during Work War II with both the Polish and one year in England with British 8th Armies. It was during this time that Poland suffered many casualties of war including Ed’s entire family.
