Eugene Dale Bushell, of Milo passed away suddenly at home December 25, 2002 at the age of 63 years.
Eugene was born March 1, 1939 in Queenstown, Alberta to John “Jack” and Florence Bushell. He attended Queenstown school and later S.A.I.T. taking a course in Ag. Mechanics. He married his first wife June Nelson on June 4, 1960 and together they lived on the farm at Milo. June died in November of 1988 and on July 15, 1995 he married Marg Winters in Milo. In the past few years they enjoyed traveling with their fifth wheel to the southern United States in the winter, and spending time together.
Eugene was a member of the Milo Lion’s Club and enjoyed the fellowship and good times of the club meetings. Over the years he served on numerous boards in the community, putting in his time selflessly. He also enjoyed going to rodeos and horse racing and camping with friends. Eugene also had fond memories of the years following Doug’s hockey with the teams in Milo, Lomond and Vulcan and all the great friends and good times shared. He took great joy in following his grandchildren and all of their activities. He always took time to find out how their school and sports activities were going and celebrating their accomplishments with them.
Eugene’s greatest love though was farming. He ran a mixed farming operation all of his life. He couldn’t wait each spring to get out on the tractor and start seeding and loved nothing more than to take a drive around the farm to see the growing crops. He loved to sit in the combine at harvest time reaping the fullness of his hard work. He was also very handy with his hands and could fix anything, and solve any problems that arose.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Marg of Milo, a daughter Christine (Galvin) Egeland , son Doug (Sharleen) and their children Tammy, Amanda and Maria all of Milo, two step-daughters Marjorie (Al) Francis of Arizona, Dorothy (Byron) Poce and their children Melissa and Eric all of Calgary, step-son Barry (Angela) Winters of Dallas, his mother Florence Bushell, sister Audrey (Ron) Fetkenher all of Milo, brothers and sisters-in-law Chris (Deana) Nelson of Arrowwood, Jim (Julia) Brown of Nanton, Jack Long of Brooks, Joan Nelson of High River, David (Julie) Nelson, Ken (Charlotte) Nelson all of Milo, Gordon (Eleanor) Smith of Peace River and John (Trina) Smith of Caroline, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
