Gertrude Braun of Coaldale, beloved wife of Jacob, passed away peacefully in Coaldale, AB on November 6, 2024 at the age of 94 years. Gertrude was born April 18, 1930 in Rosenort, Ukraine.
Besides her loving husband, Jake, Gertrude is survived by her son John Braun and daughter Carol (Otto) Lenz. She was a doting grandmother to David (Jen), Jaime, Stefan (Ashley) Lenz and Candice (Nathan) Jensen. She was blessed with 3 great grandchildren Jordyn, Rowan, and Fallon Jensen.
Gertrude is survived by 2 sisters – Mary (John) Braun and Elizabeth (Karl) Richter; In laws Elizabeth Klassen and Edna Neufeldt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Maria Ewert, brother Peter and sister Anna Quiring; in laws Walter Quiring, Jake and Helen Kampen, John and Mary Klassen, Dave Klassen and Bill Braun.
A viewing will take place from 7 pm to 8 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Coaldale Mennonite Church, 2316 – 17th St., Coaldale, AB. Funeral service will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Coaldale Mennonite Church. Gertrude will be privately laid to rest in the Coaldale Cemetery prior to the service. The service will be live streamed on the Coaldale Mennonite Church YouTube channel.
