Isabel (Belle) Greene (nee Akitt) of Vulcan, AB, gently departed a long and full life on Feb. 28, 2013. Through 91 years, she acquired an abundance of dear friends, yet first in her heart always was her family. She was the last surviving member of a very large family of origin.
Isabel was born in Carmangay, AB on May 16, 1921 to John and Elizabeth Akitt, the 7th of 8 children. The family made their own fun on the homestead fifteen miles east of Carmangay. Belle carried that sense of fun her whole life.

Andrews, Charles “Charlie” Robert, of Vulcan, passed away at Vulcan Extendicare on November 8, 2012 at the age of 94 years.
Charlie was born September 6, 1918 at Vulcan to Frederick and Elsina Andrews. Charlie joined the army in 1941 and went overseas in 1942, serving in Great Britain, Italy and Holland with the Fifth Armoured Brigade Workshop and No.70 L.A.D. New Brunswick Hussars. He returned home in the spring of 1946 and resumed farming with his family.
Charlie met his wife Edo in 1948 and they were married June 12, 1950. Charlie and Edo had two children, George and Lynne. In

Debra is survived by her common-law husband Allan Bulmer, three children Kirsty Brown, Michael (Erin) Crouch, Robert McAlister, eight grandchildren, mother Mary, three brothers Randy (Debra) MOffatt, Gordon Moffatt, Dale Moffatt and numerous nieces and nephews.

Schierman, Ruby Ella, beloved wife of the late David Schierman, entered Heavens Glory July 1, 2009 at Vulcan Extendicare at the age of 86 years.
Ruby was born on August 17, 1922 at Bruce, Alberta to Michael and Pauline Grinde. She attended West Bruce School then went onto Edmonton Normal School to become a teacher. Because of the shortage of teachers during the war, Ruby taught from January to April at a school near Barrhead. She then returned to Edmonton to finish her training. Ruby taught for three years at Bruce, Alberta and in 1946 moved to southern Alberta to teach
