It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter Jamie Nicole Hunter, on March 20, 2017 at the age of 30 years. Jamie had a heart of gold and an infectious smile.
Jamie is survived by her mother Connie Kiemele, her sisters Tammy Kiemele (James), Samantha (Damon) Postman, her grandparents Rose and Alfred Kiemele, aunts and uncles Joan (Dave) Walburger, Mike (Kelly) Kiemele, Wayne (Tina) Kiemele and John Kiemele as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

It is with great sadness that the family of Randy Gaylen Oberholtzer of Arrowwood, announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the age of 59 years.
Randy was born on August 28, 1957 in Calgary, Alberta to Ivor and Eleanor Oberholtzer. Randy moved with his family from Arrowwood to Banff in 1968 where he attended school. He was an avid ski racer and enjoyed working in the family motel business. His adolescent years were filled with the pursuit of motorcycles, cars, and trucks. He earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying cross country trips. Randy returned to Arrowwood

Rhodes, Walter Samuel formerly of Champion, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Vulcan Community Health Centre, on March 5, 2017 at the age of 94 years. He was born on March 7, 1922 on the family homestead east of Champion, to George and Jennie Rhodes.
Walter grew up on the farm helping his dad and brothers with the hard work that comes with farming. He also helped his dad in the mine. He attended the Sanderson School and managed to finish Grade 8 before his help was needed more frequently. He moved to Bellevue, Alberta, for two winters,

Darrell Fath of Lake MacGregor County Estates, passed away after a long battle with cancer at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on March 1st, 2017 at the age of 57 years.
Darrell was born on August 20th, 1959 to Phillip and Catherine (Kaye) Fath. He met his wife Sherri Morrison and they had two sons; Carey and Daniel Fath, and were married for 33 years. During this time in their lives, they lived in many different locations, but they were all called home. Darrell and Sherri retired to Lake MacGregor Estates.

Grant Austin Lahd, born August 7, 1937, passed away peacefully at his home in Milo, Alberta, on February 28, 2017.
Grant is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Lahd and his children Rod (Leslie) Lahd, Lee (Tammy) Lahd, Darla (Vaughan) Hartigan and Kyle (Crystal) Lahd. Knive, Ruby Alberta, of Vulcan, passed away peacefully at the Vulcan Extendicare on February 23, 2017 at the age of 98 years.
Ruby was born on September 9, 1918 on the family farm at Kirkcaldy, to Michael and Dorthea Sullivan. Andy and Ruby married in Vulcan in 1942 and in the same year, they rented the Stager farm in the Red Cross district where they lived for the next eight years. They purchased the Henry McBride place in the Union Jack area in 1948. After years of farming and raising their three children, Andy and Ruby retired and moved to Vulcan

Fisher, Margaret Kathleen of Nanton, peacefully passed away at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre in Claresholm on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the age of 97 years.
Margaret spent many years with Keith on the farm in the Vulcan area. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Hawaii as well as spending time at their home on the Kootenay Lake. She will be sadly missed by many.

Francis, Lorna Opal, of Vulcan, peacefully passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on February 11, 2017, at the age of 81 years.
Lorna was born on October 8th, 1935 in Arrowwood, to Nels and Clara Nelson. Lorna grew up on her parents farm near Queenstown, where she started her schooling. After school, she attended Secretarial College in Calgary and worked in Calgary and in the Western United States before returning to Milo. She married William “Bill” Francis and together they raised two sons on the farm – Timothy and Daniel. Lorna remained on the farm until 2007 then moved

McCaskill, Marjorie Frances, of Vulcan, beloved wife of Bob McCaskill, passed away at the Vulcan Community Health Centre on February 5, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

Marjorie was born on January 1, 1926 in the first Vulcan hospital. The only daughter of Clifford and Marie Love, she completed nursing training at the Calgary General Hospital in 1949 and went on to have a successful nursing career, helping war veterans at the Colonel Belcher Hospital in Calgary.
