Nelson, Kacy Michele passed away suddenly near Vulcan, Alberta on July 17, 2011 at the age of 17 years.
Kacy was born March 10, 1994 in High River, Alberta to Wade and Kathy Nelson. She attended Hope Christian School from grades one through eight with grades nine and ten at CCHS in Vulcan. Grade eleven being completed at Prairie Christian Academy in Three Hills, Alberta.
While attending Hope Christian she went on a mission to Costa Rica and while at Prairie Christian Academy she went on a mission to Greece.
Kacy was active in sports participating on the track team, CCHS Basketball Hawks
HEELEY, Charlene Rachelle 1954-2011
HEELEY, Charlene Rachelle passed away at home suddenly on August 4, 2011 at the age of 56 years.
Charlene has been David Filipchuck’s companion for the past nineteen years. Together they have enjoyed farming. Her hobbies included riding everywhere with David on the quad and motor cycle. She enjoyed cooking. She loved the farm animals and raised chickens, named the cows and had a flower garden.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Travers Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gordon Cranch officiating.

Kuypers, Adrian “Harry” of Vulcan, passed away Sunday May 29, 2011 at the age of 70 years.
Beloved soul mate and husband of Paulette Kuypers of Vulcan, loving father of daughter Tina (Mike) Graus and their daughter Sydney of Okotoks, son Tom (Susan) Kuypers and their children Daphne and Ashton of Sherwood Park, two sisters Audrey Wallace, Doris (Henning), Theo (Fran) Kuypers, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Harry was often seen walking his beloved dog George.

Anton (Tony) Gerst peacefully passed away on May 28th, 2011 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 77years.
Tony was born on April 1, 1934 in Fazekasboda, Hungary to Peter and Maria Gerst. At the age thirteen, Tony and his mother were displaced during the Second World War from their home in Hungary to Erbach, Germany where they later reunited with his father. The family settled there. Tony finished school where he achieved his trade in construction. He married Waltraud (Trudy) in 1958 and they built their first home in Erbach. Over the next seven years,

Edith Garriock Canning formerly of Milo passed away May 27, 2011 at Didsbury, Alberta at the age of 89 years.
Edith was born August 23, 1921 on the family homestead at Arrowwood, third child of John and Annie Goldthorpe. She attended Eastway School for ten years when she quit to stay at home and help her mother on the farm. She assisted with the cooking and cleaning and chores for several years due to her mothers failing health. She eventually began working for numerous farmers throughout the community as a homemaker. Gordon George “Jordy” Petronech of Champion, Alberta passed away May 17, 2011 in Calgary at the age of 67 years.
Gordon was born December 9, 1943 in Coaldale, Alberta to Gordon and Betty Petronech. He attended school in Coaldale and Champion. Once he moved to the farm at Champion, Gordon knew that was where he always wanted to be.
Following his leg surgery and the loss of his father, he carried on farming. Gordon married Maxine in 1978 and they raised their family in Champion. He was very community minded and was always helping or doing projects to assist his

Joyce Ann Birch passed away surrounded by her loving family April 27, 2011 at Vulcan, Alberta at the age of 74 years.
Joyce was born on May 29, 1936 Calgary, Alberta to John and Agnes “Nan” Black. Her early years were spent on the family dairy farm. She grew up learning the values of family, work and honesty. She was involved in the Bearspaw 4-H Club and showing her Ayrshire project. Her 4-H highlight was going to Toronto as part of the Alberta judging team and winning. After high school she attended secretarial school and then
